DLC after finishing or right at the beginning?

Hey there!

Should I buy the DLCs after I finished the main story since they don't add anything besides the story to the game (Like in Witcher 3) or should I buy the whole package?

You should probably buy Fallout 4 + season pass while it's on sale.
If you are planning on playing the dlcs anyway theres no reason not to buy the whole thing on sale.

I bought all the dlc, started a new game, then refunded the crappy dlc's. I got some of my money back, and can still use all the dlc in my playthrough.

The DLC's add items to the build menu for settlements. Also Automatron adds different and strong enemies to the game when you start that DLC which you can after level 15.

I played the game from the beginning and have restarted with new characters after the DLC.
It changes the game quite alot to have the DLC installed. You have different weapons drop , building is easier for settlements with more items.

The only dlcs that are really worth it are automatron, far harbor and nuka world. But getting the season pass is still cheaper than buying those 3 individually and you get some stuff for your settlements.

I disagree, I enjoyed them all.

Besides, I am in the middle of constructing Vault 88. I found a few things I didn't know before and things started to work better.

I like to spread the DLCs across my playthrough- the first one was automatron, did that around level 25, played the base game and killed a certain bad character Kellogg then did Far Harbour around level 50, got back to the Commonwealth around level 70 and I'm doing Vault-Tec Workshop. Once I finish this, I'll do a decent portion of the main story line, then do Nuka World :P
