Is This Normal
I've played on console and I'm seeing an insane amount of crashes comparitively. Doesn't seem to be my mods, nothing wrong with system specs... Is this normal for the PC version? Even stepping on certain spots will cause a crash invariably. It's kind of confusing.

It would be nice if there was at least something saying "game crashed, due to this error" or at least something. But nope, just closes out like it's quiting time.

Any help?

not for me and aside from my graphics card, my hard is inbetween minimum and recommended hardware. i should say the game is somewhat sluggish at times. notably in the boston city centre area and in some insanly detailed outside areas. other then the occasional (barely noticable) delay i have no problem at all. can't say if it's mods or not though, never having used them.
so in conclusion: do try to shut mods off, because the base game is unlikely to be the problem. eliminating that only your hardware remains. which is a simple check list of "is it well over recommended" and "does it function as it should".

Ignore the other replies. A mod is crashing your game.

Fallout 4 is stable, mods crash the game. This is from very extensive personal experience My fallout 4 is better than anyone elses I can asure you and it wasnt easy and seen quite a few crashes before it got to that point.

I had a simple texture mod crashing my game.

Play test each mod. Install a mod play for a couple hours and if it doesnt crash even once you COULD be safe.

I had a mod crashing ONLY when I went to spectacle island for some odd reason. Eventually I got rid of that crash and I dont know how, just got lucky.
I can assure you that it is not better than mine.

Wow, what a generalisation. Do you even know anything about PCs?
I'd ignore this troll OP. It's too broad a statement to say that mods alone will cause crashes.

He does have a point though. It would be better to post a list of mods as well to see if any of them are incompatible with each other, or if any of them are known to cause crashes.

I don't want to harp on about it, but I don't disagree at all that mods may be a cause. It's just not always exclusively the case, as the poster seemed to be suggesting. In OPs case, it's likely to be a mod or mod load order issue over anything else since their specs seem good.

Might be a specific mod since load order didn't help. I'll have to post what I have because I just got another crash. Tried to go back outside and I'm at my desktop again. =/

"stronger_vanilla_weapons.esp"
"stronger_vanilla_weapons_dlc.esp"
Are these by the same creator? They were just the ones i saw that could possibly cause error.
There are also a few armour/power armour mods which could cause problems, but i'm no expert on these so i can't give a 100% accurate answer.
Is there anything in specific that could be causing the crashes?
SeeEmilyPlay 29 DIC 2016 a las 1:44 a. m.
You have a few Power Armor mods but I can't tell what all of them are to see if they may conflict with one another or not.

Can you elborate on: pa_steal.esp

Also, I am wondering if vx_powerarmor_equalizer.esp & enhanced power armor durability.esp may conflict. Without looking in to the .esp files themselves, they both alter the hitpoint values going by their descriptions at bethesda.net. I don't know if this will cause crashes though. Someone else who knows more about modding might be able to advise.

Are you doing anything specific in game when it crashes. Are you wearing Power Armor when it crashes? That sort of thing...

They might conflict... I hadn't really noticed that they both change durability because when I first got them one affected durability so the game isn't Armor Repair Simulator 2016 and the other only balanced armor rating. I'll be able to get rid of one of those now.

The only thing I could possibly think of that's causing the crashes is when the game is loading between areas, It seems to only really happen after I've travelled long distances through the wasteland or every so often when I fast travel. That's the only thing I've been able to notice so far.

It hasn't happened indoors so far, so that's all I can think of that's standing out.

I think they are by the same creator Zulu, if I'm looking on bethesda.net at the right links
https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/workshop/fallout4/mod-detail/2085734
https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/workshop/fallout4/mod-detail/2286010 (without Nuka World) or https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/workshop/fallout4/mod-detail/2765167 (with Nuka World)

I take it you have the DLCs or some of them Auden Kaitus?

I have all DLCs, yes. It also says intended for use with modern firearms, however that is a particular mod that I don't care for. Not sure if that would cause anything either, though.

I checked that, but the mod description says it's not a requirement, so it should be ok.

What is the "pa_steal.esp" mod?

What is the "pa_steal.esp" mod?
It resets Power Armor ownership when a new core is put into it. For sniping people out of their power armor if you're greedy for frames. Not sure if I currently have that enabled or not.

Ok. Doesn't sound like it would conflict with other PA mods (I'm guessing).

So at this stage, I'd suggest ditching one or the other of these mods, and see if problem persists:
vx_powerarmor_equalizer.esp
enhanced power armor durability.esp

Make sure you delete the mod rather than disable it. If it's showing up in LOOT, then it's not fully removed and may still cause an effect, so deleting is often a better option when trying to fault find mod conflicts.

Well I deleted unneccesary mods and thought I was good. Played, like, nine straight hours before a crash. I don't know at this point but if it sticks to only crashing after ridiculous amounts of time that's fine I guess xD

I'll test out each mod seperately when I have the time and just see if it's any particular thing causing crashes. I haven't got many other ideas.

I have heard certain things like forcing higher frame rates causes problems but I've only really manually turned off motionblur and changed fov when I get headaches.

Thanks to everyone who bothered responding. I was honestly not expecting everyone to be this helpful xD It is the internet, afterall. I'll let you all know if/when I figure something out.
