You can still use the console, or create a mod.
But I prefer you to keep crying like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ millenial you are. It's funny.
I enjoy the game but that oversight really annoys me and makes me to not want to use dlc weapons that dont use base game/craftable ammo.
Nuka World is in the same boat. However you can at least find a cool set of special X-01 power armor in Nuka World.
Most enemies, especially the toughest enemies in the game, are immune or resistant to radiation damage. Human enemies, the ones with the lowest hp and who are the easiest to kill, you can kill super easy even without radiation damage. The Radium Rifle therefore sucks because it doesn't do anything useful. My Gauss Rifle already 1 shots humans, 1 shots most of the radiation immune/resistant enemies. I have absolutely no use for a weapon that doesn't work at all against a large portion of the enemies in the game, only sort of works against another large portion of enemies, and doesn't perform any better against the enemies that were already easy to kill.
If I want to use another weapon I'll take an automatic with explosive affix.
Bad Logic really. Radium Rifle by Default without it's radiation damage is as powerful as a Combat Rifle, which is actually not that bad. Being it can 1 hit Kill most enemies if you do sneak attacks in survival mode and has very good range to boot. The +50 Radiation Damage gives an added bonus vs enemies which are not radiation resistant which makes it far better in most respects than the Combat Rifle, so to say it's a bad weapon is idiotic. I do admit, the muzzle on the weapon is ugly as heck. But it's a very good weapon. Despite all the radiation resistant enemies in Far Harbor I picked the first one up I had without upgrading it in any way and went through the whole DLC with it, being I didn't bring much ammo with me. It's not a bad weapon. The Radiation Damage doesn't seem to be effected by range either, unlike it's base damage.
According to some sources, Ghouls do not heal from it despite it causes radiation damage. Unlike a few other radiactive weapons. Could be because most people run around with an upgraded version with like 80-100power per hit counting on perks of course, so being most ghouls are 1 hit kills even with weak weapons, it's likely not noticable.
So again, it's not a bad weapon.
Also the Gauss Rifle is horrible, if you play survival mode, and isn't a viable wepaon in my opinion. Too heavy, ammunition too heavy, rate of fire too slow. I can kill multiple humans considerably faster with a basic combat rifle than any ninny using a Gauss Rifle. I bet I could do it with my 10mm after popping some Jet actually. Which says it all. I don't even need a Gauss vs the hardest enemies. lol
This is correct, one of the raider vendors, general one I think, sells 2000 bullets. Just like the Vendors in Nuka who sell 2000. There is no shortage of that ammo if you buy it.
