Stuck because can't swim in power armor.
Found Dunwich Borers location today, entered it in X1-01 and suddenly fell into the hole full of waterin the end of this dungeon (did not expect something to be in that water). The bottom of this pit is lower than sideway to exit, I can't reach sideway by jumping or any other way. So, this is the end of Sole Survivor? No way to get out of there on your own, and fast travel is not avaliable. Of course, I'll go there again without powerarmor to be able to swim, but still, this part of location looks like something developers did not check carefully, or a reminder not to totally rely on heavy defence.

No questions or complains here, just an interesting fact I want you to comment.

Guess who's fault that was...

Saw the title and I knew what happened before I read the body.

It was intended that you will dump your power armor there because you jumped there in the first place.

Seeing this again (about getting power armour stuck at that place in Dunwich Borers), it occurred to me that it might be possible to get a companion to enter an underwater power armour frame and teleport out with it.

After testing it on a beach at Spectacle Island, it appears to be possible, but involved a lot of cases where the companion complained about being unable to get to it when commanded. When they eventually did get into the frame, they teleported out of the water and appeared next to me immediately (though I don't know if the timing was just a coincidence since I was standing back a bit when I gave my commands). They did then refuse to get out of the frame until after I saved and reloaded, slept and otherwise messed about, but that might not be related to the water.

Anyway, at least in theory, it may be possible to recover a power armour frame stuck down that water-filled pit in Dunwich Borers.

Well, I did not expect to fall into a deep hole, because the game showed me an altar on that exact place during flashbacks (I expected to find a note or a body or broken altar, nothing else). To say more, this place is way deep underground and completely made of stone, so I had no idea of finding anything different there. Well, I might be dumb, then :D

I'll try that and see what happens next. Thanks for this idea.

I know you said you don't have any questions but if I get stuck, I use the console command tcl and "fly" out of the place I got stuck.

leave power armor before going into the water.------> swim down and grab awesome stuff-------> swim back up-------> reenter power armor-------> profit?

are players really this clueless today that they need to RELOAD for this? i mean we got quicksave and autosave and whatnot for a reason. heck there is even beds for survival down there.

I'm gonna die of laughter because of this post.

Am I supposed to know there is something interesting? No. Am I supposed to know this path is not leading me to an exit from this locaton, but to a dead end? No#2. So yes, I had to reload this instead of using cheats or trying my companion get into armor underwater.

And btw, autosave feature makes my game crash after almost every change of location, so I'm not using it at all.

Guys, I'm not asking for advice, this task was simple. I only wanted to discuss this location and its features, nothing more. Don't be salty.

Go into your Fallout 4 folder in My Documents and delete a bunch of saves

Press alt F4. Or reset your HD. That would fix your problem.
