Which quest, at what Level?
I seem to be undertaking quests that are waaaay beyond the level I'm at.
Is there a list somewhere that tells you which quest one should attempt at the level you're at?
That would be a great help. :steamsad:

Not a list per-say, but if you're too low a level, level 30 - 40 will let you destroy just about anything that comes in your path

Game scales, so no it doesnt really matter (If your awat from emerald city in the north part of the map this tends to be more humans/gangs while emerald city is way more SUPER MUTANT (not as good loot from drops, but the occainal nuke, fatman or rocket launcher make up for it.... lets hope you have the inventory space/weight.) There are areas that after certain levels, quests are EXP really only. I run straight to Emerald City (Charisma Checks arent crazy there if you are doing that kind of playthrough even at low levles.) and do all those quests pretty much the moment i can walk away from the the minuteman, TONS OF SCRAP and Caps from these quests. first play through I got to emerlad city in the 30ish, I didnt need anything at all from the quests and pretty much walked in did the major quest line and bounced as i didnt need the caps or stores. Why i love emerald ciry is I dont have to listen to that old bat in the dinner say the SAME ♥♥♥♥ OVER AND OVER AND OVER for 20+ hours. Also if you dont want to do the settlement system Emerald City is your spot anyways.

Also i try and move through the main story ASAP untill all the factions are unlocked. Nothing like seeing BoS drop from the sky on super mutant camps. I have paid money for worse light shows then what goes down when they show up.

I made a similar mistake in FO3. I tried to follow the main quest without doing side quests and got in way over my head. Then I discovered the side quests and made the game much easier.

FO4 can be broken down into Zones. The zone around Sanctuary is the easiest. The zones bordering this one are harder and the zones to the far northeast, southeast and southwest are the hardest.

When you take a new quest, look at the objective on your map and ask yourself, "How far from Sanctuary is this quest and is it farther than any quest I've already done?"

If so, it will be a challenge. There are zone maps on the internet. Here is one.

This is nice!! I would still focus on the main quest. I would head south after the Corvona power plant (hint look everywhere here, Going up to the sniper lookout at the top is worth it!) (Isay this because I dont know if you have ever fallouted before. I just want you to realize the kid of game your playing.), you should head south till emerald city. Do the quests in emerald city because they give ALOT OF caps and EXP for low level. (will cut your level/fartming/scavening time in half in the beg.)

One mission you go make paint for the wall. Kill a bunch of stuff get like 300 caps for the quest all the loot you can carry and you only have to walk like 3 blocks ..... sure it COULD get really hairy and a pack of wild dogs want to eat you while super mutants reign missles on you..... or you can run around up north and feel like your getting no where, but hey its a wasteland and death is pretty much anywhere. You will get alot of information about the game and it will feel less empty as well in emerald city. (also can get several new companions here.)

The main quest going after kellog can be completed in the teens and needs to be done If your goood it sounds like you will want to be in the high teens! You want the Brother Hood of Steel active and the Railroad Active as soon as possible..... I strongly recoomend you heading to Emerald city at 11 and will probaly level 1 or twice on the way. When you get there plenty of loot and MULTIPLE vendors to sell and buy stuff.

Also use DRUGS and BUFFS if your having a hard time. There is a reason why they ar ein the game and there are perks for not becoming addictive. You live and dir by your stash on Survivior if your not a sneaky bastard.

You all playing survivor mode too? Level 10 atm, getting one hit kills by landmines and close encounters. The challenege is sweet, much more difficult than Hardcore mode compared to NV and loving it.
