Purple textures
Heya folks, I have a texture bug. It's only a basic shower mat that has turned into an unsightly purple colour. Would like to fix it. Don't know how. Last time I had a problem like this, it was purple deathclaws that still sounded like Macho Man.

I recently reinstalled the game for other reasons, yet this problem insists. Maybe I should look for a specific file? Anybody got a name I should look out for?

You have the Vault-Tec Workshop right?

Creamy purple is the basic look of objects that don't have textures. You are missing the texture of that mat, or your game fails to recognize it. Does the problem persist after restarting the game? Sometimes it is only the current save that gets buggy. Is this mat from the main game, or from a mod? In the first case, it should be fixed by a clean reinstall. IN the second, maybe reinstall the mod.

This can also happen after uninstalling a mod that altered that texture, the uninstall removes the mod texture but doesn't replace the original.

Alright, thanks for y'all efforts, but I fixed it by searching for "Rug" in my Data folder and deleted whichever file made the most sense. That's what I did to get Macho Man Randy Savage out of my game, after he stubbornly existed in my game for 3 playthroughs and 300hours as a horrifying purple deathclaw.

Any chance you remember which mod was the culprit that created that PlayerHouse_Rug01.nif? I am having the same issue now and thanks to google I was able to find this thread. Deleting the file did help put the bathmat back to its normal texture/mesh at the beginning of the game although I don't know what might happen elsewhere in the Commonwealth or the stability of potentially 1 of 500 mods (I have a lot of light mods) by removing this file. Thanks for any help if you still remember as I can see your post was from 2018 >.<

I got no idea. My mod list has changed a lot since then and in fact I don't have Fallout 4 installed anymore.

I am playing without mods and yesterday I came across some bright purple patches in the Nuka World. It was marvelous to behold at night time.
I vaguely recall that I’ve seen this thing before in the NW.

Surprisingly, in my mod-less run this was only the third bug I came across. The first one was, as usual, in Vault 81 where I had to kill Tina’s brother in order to get her as a merchant (which was my choice anyway), the second was with Trader Rylee disappearing (had to use console) which did not happen in my previous mod-less runs. Did not encounter any other major bugs. None, literally.
