(Solved) DLC: Contraptions Workshop, Worth? (Solved)
Alright, 5 bucks, not that much but still, its money. Chuknow?
So, i have questions if you could please awnser them, thanks.
1. How is this DLC useful? If so, how useful.
2. If it is useful, do you need a complex machine? Or can it be done by simple machines.
3. How hard is this DLC to pick up? As of the learning and such.
4. Anything i should know?
5. Any tips?
6. I prefer redrocket settlement as my Player Home, general crafting area/station/whatever. How much space does a simple machine take, and a large/complex machine take?
7. Any bugs? Not to much of an issue, however would like to be aware of some bugs.
8. What things can you automate?
9. What Useful things can you automate?
10. How fast and effiecent is this automation?
Anyway, not hating on this DLC, all that i read was "Automate stuff* and seemed abit useless, but i can see in SOME ways it can prove userful.
Many thanks. Cheers.

1) It gives you more ways to send power to your settlements, more devices, more machines, fun gadgets like the firework launcher; determining usefulness, I guess It fits really well into settlement building and is essential.
It also REALLY helps players to mass produce things if they're low on caps.

2) No you don't, it helps to build complex machines and make settlement building cleaner and easier with less wires everywhere, and you finally get automated doors.
And on top of that, you also get to mass produce items such as ammunition or even weapons.
Plus the elevators are a great addition.
I ADVISE the Manufacturing Extended mod if you ever buy this.

3) Not really too much, the logic gates are the trickiest part but there's guides now; was harder during the beta and before any guides were out there.

4) Not really, go wild, experiment, there's some neat launchers and switches you can work with if you pick it up.

5) Not too many unless we're talking about logic gates, one other one is that you can clear the weather without using the console with the firework launchers.
Another one is that the vacuum can be used to distribute and get supplies from other containers.

6) Not too much, if you have a small enough room you may have to adjust the walls.

7) Not that I'm aware of, but I highly recommend the manufacturing extended mod as it makes it a lot better.

8) Manufacturing:
Ammunition
Weapons like Explosives, Rifles, Pistols, etc., made better by the Manufacturing Extended mod that adds dlc support.
Misc Items like Teddy Bears

Automation:
Possible Automatic Doors
More Traps

9) Doors, what a lifesaver those logic gates are.
Other than that, you can manufacture ammunition, and dlc ammunition from the dlc's if you have manufacturing extended.

10) If we're going by automated tasks, it does a really good job at keeping an entire factory going, grabbing resources it makes or your settlement makes, and helps with the logic part, and electrical part of your settlements.

This.

Besides, you might find this thread useful if you ever plan to design your own factories:

It is a list of tips I compiled based on my experiments on the manufacturing end of Contraptions DLC.
