Mods not working/wont show up in workbench NEED HELP!!
Ive recently got back into fallout 4 and took about an hour or 2 to download mods and I got about 50 mods off of nexus. Most of these mods wont work, I go to my workbench and the model for them is missing and there are gaps of invisibility inbetween objects that are in vanilla. I spawned in a pistol and it showed up in my inventory (pistol was Modded) and it was in my inventory but the model was missing. I have no idea how to fix this and i need help with pretty bad. Im using the nexus mod manager.

Did you sort you load order? If mods did not provide loose files for meshes, then they are distributed in BA2 archives. These files are loaded based on ESP/ESM files associated them in the load order. If there is a conflict there is a change that data is in your game, but records are being overwritten with incompatible information.

Otherwise missing objects sound like missing meshes. Again, you might have installed mods that edit same files as loose files and overwritten the ones you wanted to use. Loose files will win all conflicts against archived files, but they are also getting directly overwritten by content that is using the same file name.

...or you might have installed mods that need other mods to function properly, like expansion packs for Sim Settlements without installing Sim Settlements mod...

Ok so if I uninstall my mods that are saying that i should overwite information with that should help it? I also dont know how I should organize my load order I just put the ones that arent working near the top.

It is important to know which files overwriting each other are important ones. The ones you let win resource priority conflicts in NMM overwrites will become to effect.

Have you tried running LOOT to sort your load order? Exception list is not yet as reliable for FO4 as it is for Skyrim, but it is getting there. I am quoting my own post from Skyrim side.

LOOT stands for Load Order Optimization Tool. It will detect and sort your plugins, when you run the tool.
  • When you open LOOT it will first check for master list and version updates. This does not sort your load order yet.

  • Click "Sort Plugins" button. It appears as a 3 lines in top right corner of LOOT window. This will now sort your load order.

  • After LOOT is done, the "Sort Plugins" changes to text button saying "APPLY". Click the button to accept changes made to your load order.

  • If you have files that are not yet sorted properly by loot (as presented below), then move these files to proper places manually and you are done.

Download LOOT
I recommend using LOOT.Installer.exe version, under Download > Download LOOT.

you need to enable archive invalidation, you giant idiot

-Post is from 2017.

- Archive invalidation has not been required since Fallout NV.

- Loose file recognition is enabled from INI-file. FO4 has issue with those and not with archives.

I very much doubt that. I have never heard of you and the way you behave and speak makes me to believe that your modding experience is minimal in comparison.

1. Pointless Necromancy.

2. Not required.

3. True. Not on by default, but that is what users are doing and not invalidating archives. Instructions have been in pinned topics since ages.

Cool, so you are sort of a newcomer to modding games. I started with Baldur's Gate, back in 1998.

If you actually want to jump along, then welcome. We have a good community here and in other BGS gaming forums. Regulars are involved with several tools, forums, channels mods and projects. We could always use extra hands and experienced mod authors.

Perhaps with slightly more polite tone? Spelling out "you giant idiot" in to thread from 2017 leads nowhere else than people just avoiding you and your attempts to help them.

We work as a community, solving issues from various games, mods and projects. Feel free to jump in, if you like, or just do your own thing. This is not a popularity competition. It does not matter who gives the correct answer, as far as correct answer is given.

Check out pinned topics and community threads from here, Skyrim and Skyrim SE forums to figure out where people could most use your knowledge and experience.

I take that as a big compliment. Thanks. :kcdgkw:
