If by "May be Divided" you mean Throw Danse off the Forecastle, yeah. There's no way the Brotherhood would let their God-King be supplanted by an abomination like Danse, hence the plot was scrapped. The writer clearly didn't understand the BOS.
Many characters got rushed and lack in development past certain points of the main story.
P.S. why "God-King"? A little condescending towards him, no?
