How do I switch partners?

I believe I have several partners available to use, but no idea how I change them.

talk to one and say dismiss. Or go to another one and ask them to go with you it will then prompt you to send your previous one to a settlement.

Sometimes the dialogue gets buggy, especially with certain ones (faction ones, sometimes there is faction quests/dialogue that interferes)

Go to the companion you want to use and ask them to join you. The companion currently following you will then ask where they should go.

you may wanna switch a few of them around, and if they are within "hearing" distance from each other, you will see unique roasting exchanges between partners. Danse/Valentine swap convos are my fav! One liners, but so much is implied :)
Not all of them (DLC followers don't) will have swap converstations, but for the most part they do, and they are hilarious!
