Using a newer version of Fallout than F4SE can handle?
Okay, so the other day I posted about weird issues I was having, and in the end, I uninstalled the game, and redownloaded/reinstalled.

I decided to reinstall F4SE, and used the installer version. When I click to open, it says I'm using a newer version of Fallout with an older version of F4SE.

It says the Fallout is 1.10.50, and the F4SE is 0.6.4, which is what it says on the site, too.

So I'm not sure what to do here. Do I try and rollback Fallout? Do I wait for an update from F4SE, or what? Can I just remove my F4SE-related plugins, like LooksMenu, Achievements, and Place Everywhere?

I just want to play my bloody game, and this is getting really annoying.

Check and make sure that the dll for 1.10.40 is still not in your game folder. 0.6.4 is the correct version for 1.10.50.

Also that you updated your scripts.

There's no dll there at all.

I've updated every mod that uses F4SE to the latest versions available.

I don't know what else to do, tbh.

Post screenshot of error message.

Okay, so here's what comes up [imgur.com]
The first is the F4SE error, and the other is what happens when FO4 tries to launch.

Uninstall F4SE, then install the newest. You have leftovers from the previous version.

I have. Repeatedly.

If you aren't seeing any F4SE dlls in your Fallout 4 folder (not the DATA folder) then you probably have windows set to hide some files from you. You'll need to disable that and make sure the DLL is the 1.10.50.0 version.

There has also been a recent report that the installer might have a misnamed older version of F4Se in it, so try the zip version.

There's what my root folder looks like currently. I do have a F4SE folder in my Data, which looks like this:

I deleted that plugins folder, though, and nothing changed.

You need to have the F4se_loader.exe and the dlls in your Fallout folder.

Use the zip version and copy it into that folder.

I just did, and it stil does the same as in the above 'fallout 4 can't load' image.

Don't use the installer version of F4SE. Always install F4SE MANUALLY - you'll have far less problems that way.

Also, some AV programs, Norton's especially, will flag F4SE as a threat. Just add the following 3 files to your exceptions AND real time scans (SONAR in Norton's):

f4se_1_10_50.dll
f4se_loader.exe
f4se_steam_loader.dll

Keep in mind that you'll have to update these exceptions whenever F4SE is updated. As an alternative, you can exclude the entire Fallout 4 game folder if you want. Personally, I prefer the individual file route.

Are you running the F4se_loader.exe directly or using something else to launch it?
Chef Dec 12, 2017 @ 7:59am
In that image of your root folder, I don't see the F4SE files anywhere. There should be a dll file with the current runtime version (1.10.50) in the file name, F4SELauncher and I think one more. I'm at work, so I can't look at mine.

I use AVG, but it's turned off right now, so I'm not sure that's the issue.

This is just so annoying, because Sunday it was working perfectly fine, and then it wasn't.

I use the loader directly.

And they're not in that screenshot because I'd uninstalled them at that point. Even with them installed, it's not working.
