Please help

I click play and it says install. despite me not uninstalling the game.
I have a look at the steam files and everything's present.
I click the launcher in the files and it still tells me to install it.

Try the following.

Steam client: Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache.

Client will require you to sign in again.

Did not work. I look at my library and clicking play asks me to install again. Dispite all my files being present in the Steamapps folder

Okay then. Let's presume that this is a Steam issue and take the long route around it.

- Exit from Steam.
- Go to Steam folder and locate folder named appcache. Delete appcache folder.
- Close your computer. Let it actually close down, before starting it again.
- Start Steam. It will now gather information from your installation and create a new appcache folder for you.

I problem remains after this, then try the following.
- Steam client Library view > Right click the game.
- Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

I recommend trying this in said order, because verification process uses appcache. If appcache is corrupted, or otherwise out of date, then verification process might not be able to detect issues from your installation.

I did the first option. nothing. I checked properties already. Everythings greyed. Like its been uninstalled. but it hasn't as all files are still present in the apps folder.

Hmm... that usually solves the problem. If not, then something else is wrong. It might even be another application interfering.

Thank you for both your help. but nothings worked. I'm just gonna have to delete everything in the Steam apps folder and re-install the game.
