mods are not working (SOLVED)
I just got fallout 4 a few days ago and now I want to mod it with NMM and no matter what I do mods are not working and yes I did that thing in the ini where you add that [launcher] and [archive] then everything after those two however I can't get mods to work I've also verified the game files via steam and I even unistalled Fallout 4 then reinstalled it. No clue why this isn't working as it worked for the original skyrim, FNV, and Oblivion. If anybody can tell me why my mods are not working that would be great because I do not want to use ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bethesda net as I came to PC for proper modding lol

I did one of the INI files wrong so none of my mods could work

First thing is to go into the load order tool in the game and make sure it can see the mods and that they are enabled.

You are not the only one...both the NMM and Bethesda run mods are causing crashes on my game...even after verifying...checking the load order...reinstalling the game. I am crashing in areas that NEVER had this problem before...and even in beginner areas too.

I did I was trying to use CBBE and it said CBBE.esp was checked or whatever and my character still ugly af

CBBE is a body REPLACER and has nothing to do with your character's face. If your character was "ugly af" before you installed CBBE. she will still be "ugly af" after you install CBBE.

The CBBE.esp file just corrects a problem with the back of the head mesh. If your character has long hair, you don't even need it.

CBBE will work whether you check off the CBBE.esp file ot not. If your character's body is still vanilla, you haven't installed CBBE properly and you need to start by reading the mod page.

None of my mods work plus I tried multiple body replacers none of them work and I did exactly what the page told me to do

1. UNINSTALL, yes uninstall ALL the mods that "don't work". Then exit NMM.

2. double check that you've setup your game for modding according to:
http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation

3. Now launch NMM as ADMIN

4. Install just ONE of the mods you uninstalled in Step 1 above. Pick something easy to verify.

5. Launch the game and see if the mod you just installed is now working. If it is, repeat steps 3 and 4 for all the mods you uninstalled in step 1

6. If your mods still don't work, make sure NMM is setup properly and try again.

7. If after all this your mods STILL aren't working, your computer is most likely possessed and you need to hire an exorcist.

I tried step 1 to 5 and my mods still don't work however I don't know what you mean in step 6, my NMM is setup properly I think as other games I have that use NMM (skyrim, oblivion, fallout NV etc.) all worked just fine it is only fallout 4 that is doing this.

NMM works best if the Virtual Install is on the same drive letter as your game. However, it does give you the option to put the virtual install on a different drive letter. For example, let's say you installed the game on an SSD but you want to put your mods on an HDD to conserve space. NMM will let you do this BUT you MUST run NMM as Admin AND you MUST enable Multi HD Install in NMM's setup.

Also make sure you've updated NMM to the latest version since some earlier versions won't manage the Plugins.txt file properly, causing mods to deactivate.

I'm mentally disabled, I had invalidation instead of invalidate in one of the INI files

Oh my GOD, thank you so much for this. This was causing my mods to fail. I was so confused. Changing the virtual install settings made it all work.

At least this necro was worth the laugh.

I still get a kick out of that one.

I think the link to that page is broken. It keeps saying "This site can’t be reached".
