Survival, combat makes my dehydration rate kick into overdrive
Plox help.have got useable cigarettes, and recently installed unofficial for patch and survival options. Bug occurred before installing f04up and survival options. I go to next stage of thirst level within 30-60seconds but only during combat.

Before the bug occurred I did craft a mega but load of chems. Am wondering if that is the reason my dehydration is over driving so hard. (edit: the crafting was done in an intertior building with a chem lab that enemies were still near to. i was "hidden" and not being searched for)

Have tried survival options turning thirst on and off, reloading save. But no avail. Have no save before crafting chems so buggered on that front

I haven't tried survival yet, but with no other posts yet... Maybe try a new game and use console to give crafting materials and/or perks you need. Then try crafting a bunch of chems again and test it? Then try without or vice versa

A lot of chems will dehydrate you fast. I know just 1 Rad Away will take you from fully hydrated to completely parched. It's the tradeoff for using them. I haven't used much in the way of other chems on Survival, but if you are using them regularly, I'd suggest having a lot of purified water in your inventory to chug.

Are you actually using the chems, or is it just randomly happening without you doing anything?

I'm assuming he just crafted them, as that's what the post said. Says he made them. If it's using them then yeah I can definitely see that being the problem.

Ohhhh. Stimpaks perhaps? Do you have auto-stim on your armor? Or whatever that mod is, can never remember the real names of them.

no auto stimpack mod am the silver shroud atm. yeah just crafted the drugs. load of buffjet and crap from doing diamond city blues part where you raid the drug shipment. Will try to get console for survival up and running and test it in a new game

I have this happening to me too. I don't think it is chem themselves. I have a backpack mod that adds option to regenerate health. Now even with the regen option removed and even without wearing a backpack i have become a water sponge in combat. Going to try to disable mod in load order.

I've been having this same problem today and this is the first thread I've found that mentioned the mass chem crafting after busting the chem deal, which I also did. Ton of freaking Bufftats and Psychojet. That can't be a coincidence. I know I'm over a year late to this thread, but was a fix ever found or did it just go away on its own?

i think what i did to fix it was to muck around with survival options, i think it was a wait for a while constantly turning thirst off and on, then also try reloading saves from in game. its been a while since i played/had the issue but thats what im remembering off the top of my head

I actually think I managed it myself. I tried turning things off and on to no avail, the best I could do was get rid of the SPECIAL stat hits, but my max AP was still going down and I was still getting messages (but nothing on the status screen and no water droplet symbol in the lower right).

Oddly, I think the solution ended up being getting to Parched status at normal speed out of combat, and then back up to Hydrated before going back into combat. That seems to be the point it fixed itself.

yeah its like some hydration stat goes wack and you need to artificially alter it by either drinking water or drinking tons of beer. glad its working now though.

This is an old topic but relevant on google and steam searches.
I would like to share the probable cause.

This seems to be an old bug. It occur in Vanilla with or without UFO4P.

While in combat humanoid companions can use chems in inventory which can bring all sorts of positive and negative effects in the player (Sucks in survive mode).

In this video Piper use chems like berry mentats and affects Sole Survivor.

what effect your companion takes, affects you either.

I remember i put a PA mod in companion armor (highlight living targets) and were able to use it on my own.

simply dont give chems to your companion?
