F4SE 6.0 Crashing game upon opening [SOLVED]

Hi,
ive updated f4se and it seem to crash everytime i open it straight away
I get a popup that says "your game version v1..10.26.0
expected version v1.10.20.0
mod configuration menu disabled"
now i'm sure there's a way for me to find out a way to do this by googling but so far i have looked
and have found nothing that helps hence why i'm asking on this.

Uninstall the old version.
Steam/ steamapps / common/ Fallout4 and in the Fo4 folder double click the F4se uninstall .
If you happen to have a registry cleaner, run it and let it clean your old references to f4se, If not, no big deal.
Install the new version and you should be GTG

thanks for the response i got rid of the error message by updating MCM (stupid me)
BUt i have uninstalled and reinstalled f4se, i'll run the cleaner and see how that goes. thank you

Hopefully you use a cleaner that makes a backup before cleaning...just in case...
Personally i use CCleaner x64

yeah, i did all that and it's still not launching.

Since you had the old files still in there upon trying to install the latest version, i suggest using the f4se uninstall.exe and get rid of it. Install fresh after the uninstall.
Any other mods dependeant on F4SE like "Looksmenu"?

i'm not too sure. i have done a clean install. there must be some update thing i gtta do. i'll keep looking into it.

I'm also experiencing similar issues... I've already updated the mods that require updating after fallout 4 updates (MCM, Looksmenu, F4SE obviously...) and have even validated game files... None of which fixed the issue. The issue i'm seeing is that the game is launched, but it never loads... After about 15 seconds, I get a popup stating that the exe file has stopped working and that it will close the program.. If anyone has any ideas to fix this, please post!

Silly question but i just have to ask: Are you launching with F4SE exe/shortcut?

You must remove the old version of F4se from the game before downloading the new version. Use the installer it will do the rest.

no no not silly, i'm launching from the exe, and then the shortcut and its both the same thing. not: exe was used first

i didnt uninstall it first of all, then i went back uninstalled it and then installed the newer one

Trash that MCM and use NMM instead! I use Nexus Mod Manager for 12 different games and NEVER have i had an issue.
NMM even when it updates itself keeps all my mods and all my games in the exact same condition they were after it updates itself.

MCM is a mod for the game(mod configuration menu opens in the pause menu) I do use NMM.
Still having the Issue and haven't found out why yet
