It is just me or dogmeat is useless AF?
Most of the time he gets my ass into trouble instead of helping.

all of the companions are useless, dogmeat is just one of the worst.

^ADA with the decaptation effect on its head is very usefull can kill any bullets sponges in matter of seconds.

and yes dogmeat is pretty useless always is in the way of the player

Well, you can exploit a bug (Unless it's been patched) to have Dogmeat pull the Cryolator out of the locked Cryolator Case as soon as he joins you and he's also needed for the main quest.

Dogmeat is also one of the companions who will actually push you off of a ledge. He is a terrible choice for snipers, especially in the early game.

Not all companions will do this but it's also not limited to just Dogmeat, as I recall.

This actually sums what I'm trying to say. I though dogmeat would be a good companion because he stays low when you crouch, I was like "oh maybe he can stealth better than Codsworth"

Cods can't stealth at all, but I like how he rams every f*ing object with his saw/flamethrower

We need a mod that Changes Dogmeat's AI and Combat tacticts.

There are mods on the Nexus that tweaks follower AI and their behavior to suit you, if that helps. But, generally, I'd want a better AI and pathfinding system already in place, but FO4 looks like Einstein than, say, the AI of your units in any of the Stronghold games.

Yeah, Pathfinding in Fallout 4 is abysmal... :( Sometimes companions will assume there is something blocking their path even if there is open air...
We need a mod that adds "Adaptive Pathfinding"
yea he's annoying as [insert favorite profanity here].
one thing i do to make up for it is to cheat in a few console commands in a file that i call up with bat.
to use this you must be in first person, close to and looking at the companion that you want to change.
then enter console mode and then click on the character to get them to be the focus of the command set.
then type in bat mymy.
it works well, but they are still annoying, at least they are potent.
