But if I scrapp them will they disappear?
It won't do you any good to haul the body back to Sanctuary and display it. When the cell it was in resets the body will disappear.
:/ I'm looking to get to get dead bodies forever in my settlements
Not possible!
always naked corpse.
If you're on PC, there is a way you can transport bodies quickly, but it's a buggy. First off, bodies are sort of leashed to the position where they fell unless moved through forces (like pushing or gripping). Teleporting a body to you seems to work only for a brief moment if it all, and then the body teleports back to where it was. There is a way around this. I figured it out while trying to move robot bodies into a robot grinding machine.
1) Go to the body and save game (in case you select the wrong thing in step 2)
2) Bring up the console and click on the body
3) Make sure you have the correct thing selected. I test it via the command 'modpos z 100'. If it's the body, it will move upwards. If it's something else... well... something else will move. If the body didn't move, it's best to reload and try again from a different angle. Get close as you can.
4) Once you have the body selected for sure, use the command 'setrestrained 1'. That sort of locks the body in place, defeating whatever mechanic leashes bodies.
5) Now go to where you want the body
6) Use the command 'moveto player' to teleport the body to you.
7) Optionally, you can remove the restraint with the command 'setrestrained 0' and move the body around normally
I've never tested the above method between zones (ie, from inside a building to outside), but I've moved NPCs across zones before, so it should work just fine. Bodies are notoriously buggy though and do all kinds of crazy things. Different bodies act differently as well, so if you can't get it to work with one, you might have better luck with others. I was mainly concerned with getting robot bodies to a grinding machine to turn into parts with the method.
If you're dragging a body and the body is 'too heavy to move' you need to up your grip strength. Make sure you have nothing selected in console and use the commands:
SetGS fGrabMaxWeightRunning 999999999999
SetGS fGrabMaxWeightWalking 999999999999
That can be useful if you can't select a body due to it being in a steam cloud or something. You can drag it to a clear area, then select it.
Yes
I think it depends on what body I once drug a gunner to jamaca plains and it stayed there the whole game the ony change is it became to heavy for me to move. So basically some dead npcs will stay forever others especially if part of a random attack on a settlment may disapear.
Some people play as raiders! I'll not begrudge someone their choice of decor. That'd be factionist.
