Where has the Institute gone?
I played Fallout 4 intensly about 12-18 months ago and then left it. I have now returned but, either I have forgotten what happened or, I have a clitch.

The area on the pipboy map which should contain markesr for the CIT and, the access point for the Institute are just showing a huge crater.

I do not recall doing anything that may have brought this about - Councld someone possibly enlighten me.

I had completed the Institute Quest, Shaun had died and I had become the Head Guy.

You blew it up and don't remember doing it. Take a mentat and it will all become clear to you.

Seriously?, was that the conclusion of that particular quest? I can remember blowing up the BOS Airship but, my mind is a blank on the institute.

The quest is called "The Nuclear Option".

If you were the Director of the Institute, then it doesnt sound like you destroyed it.

You should be able to fast-travel (teleport) inside. I'd experimentally load an earlier save and try to refresh the memory. Better still just use it as an excuse to start the entire game again.
