Liberty Reprimed Quest Question - Spoiler Alert!!
I am at the point of doing Liberty Reprimed part that i hate the most in base game - I have drag myself out to the Glowing Sea for the nukes. Now, one would think after doing this 5 times, I wouldn't ask silly question like this, but I am curious so here we go!

Every time I have played through tihs quest, I ALWAYS brought Danse with me as my companion. This time around I wanted to switch to Cait, but before heading out, I checked wiki, and found something very peculiar:

If Danse is the current companion, he will tell the player character that he will stay behind to ensure the nukes reach the airport safely. If Danse is not the current companion, then his affinity drops to zero.

Good thing I did since I had no idea about this, but I was wondering why his affinity drops to 0? Why there is no optional to bring him along or speak with him first since he has orders from Maxson? No one says a thing about how his presence is a must or is very advisable.

I only install cosmetic mods, nothing that breaks lore or the way the game is meant to be played. I don;t mind bringing Danse along, he is my fav companion, I am just curious how come his affinity drop if one doesn't bring him along for this mission...

You can spoil it for me, I don't care. I am impatient and my 7th character hasn't even made it to DC yet :D

My OP puzzle-ment was about why would Danse hate me for not taking him to Sentinel Site? Psycic abilities of some NPCs amaze me in this game - Maxson knows abou tevery step of the story I am making before I even open my mouth to say anything, Danse learns miles away from the Prydwen that I have received orders to travel to Sentinel Site.
But sarcasm aside, affinity drop makes no sense. Maxson never said anything about giving Danse orders regarding the mission (especially since in my case at the time Danse was chilling at Red Rocket Station across the map), Ingram never said anything about Danse getting any orders, neither did Kells, and none of them, Danse himself included, told me that "Paladin Danse should be escorting me in this mission". I am just confused.

Yeah, My comment was referencing the blind betrayal quest. Because if you don't take danse, He temporarily stops being a follower due to the quest, which is why his affinity drops to 0. Depending on the outcome of your choices with the betrayal quest tho, You can almost bump his affinity all the way up to 100%, If he survives.

Oh ok, gotcha. So you are not losing affinity necessaruly since you can gain it back and further quickly. Hm, I might actually try out somone different as a follower this time around, will see. Thanks KrayToast and EdinMG! Ad Victoriam! hehe
