Mod help
I just got FO4 (GOTY version) and am trying to mod it. I did create the custom Fallout folder in the right location like I was sopposed to and i copied and pasted the lines that should be in there. As of now I only have a few mods:
MCM
Calientes beautiful bodies enhancer
Bodyslide & outfit studio
I am using NMM to download and install the mods.
Everytime I installed a mod I got an error message about installation and clicked the link it said go to and I did was I was supposed to do as far as I know. I did download and install the mods before getting the ini files right. Can someone please help? I think it's got to be something simple that i'm overlooking and I am not a modder. Thank you to anyone that responds. I really appreciate it. Have a nice day

The NMM message states "unable to retrieve data from the ini files"

it's Fallou4Custom.ini ( a text file ) not a folder for starters

this is what should be in it

[Display]
iLocation x=0
iLocation y=0

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MESHES\, INTERFACE\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

[Launcher]
bEnableFileSelection=1

it's in the sane folder as your save games . and you need f4se for mcm to work

^^^
Make sure NMM launches the F4SE , when you click the launch game, just change the button with the drop down arrow.
.ini file is very important (Documents/My Games/Fallout 4), make sure it's not read only and isn't blue ( or very least run NMM as administrator to write in it )
You can manually change the paths of mod filesand documents file too, just incase it's an issue where NMM is looking in the wrong drive, say you changed the Default Documents location to another Drive, and the NMM is searching your main boot drive instead (as an example).
Relaunch NMM when ever you make changes to settings, helps refresh Directories etc.
