How do I check companion affinity via console commands?
getav CA_affinity doesn't work by the way.

It does if you have the right reference ID selected. The main trouble I've found with using it is making sure you've got the companion properly targeted.

You may find it helpful to hunt up a list of reference IDs for the companions, which you could use to either confirm that you've got the right number selected, manually select it, or include it directly in the command, as you prefer.

After two years I hope so.

Go up to your companion, enter the console and then click on them. That will enter their ref id for you. Then enter getav ca_affinity.

I am surprised you did not amend your post so that people would take this as a closed thread. Glad you figured it out.
