What are your thoughts on Kellogg?
Title

He was writing surprisingly well, even going into his childhood and revealing his motives for being a mercenary

Well after digging through his memories my thoughts are that among the lines of that is what the sole survivor could have turned out to be. How these people had similar lives one was a merc a hired gun another was a soldier, had family, enemies screw families up and their reactions and choices afterwards forged them into what we see now. The player forges the solve survivor but we Kellogg is something set in stone we saw a path that the sole survivor could have gone and if the player chooses the old Institute may very well walk that path.

I felt like it was interesting and that his story was a cut short like the main plot should really pivot around him rather than use him as a "primer" for it something to kick it off. His character felt compelling once you really started following up with the main storyline however wasn't too compelling to go on ahead to diminod city it could have been dozens of hours before the player even went there. However once they were there there and get started with Kellogg I felt that's when the story got interesting then it peaked with Kelloggs memories.

You mean exactly what the sole survivor turned out to be if you don't play like a ♥♥♥♥♥?

I would like to see him in upcoming Fallout games, especially since he ties into the lore so well. Maybe he will be and that's why he only appears briefly.

Good point, Bethesda hasn't ruined the New Vegas lore yet.

I liked him quite a bit, and really wish that they'd given us the option to not murder the guy.

Thing is the man doing the voice acting *didn't even know he was in a fallout game* until quite late in his recording sessions, and was never told he was one of the primary bad guys. I seriously doubt that we'll be seeing him again.

The shape I left him in, he could maybe come back as the headless horseman. I felt absolutely no pity for him. He richly deserved worse than what he got. Killing my spouse for trying to stop his kidnapping can never be explained away. But it was all just in a day's work for the illegitimate son.

I liked that one

He's actually like one of the only two interesting original characters in Fallout 4. The other being Nick Valentine. I liked MacCready, but he isn't original from Fallout 4. I think Kellogg was one of the best characters for the fact the he had an intriguing character and backstory.

Kellogg and the Sole Survivor are almost mirror images of eachother. Both of them had their children and child taken and/or killed. That moment in their life is the defining moment on what they will become in the future.

I was seriously expecting them to pull some bioshock infinite ♥♥♥♥♥ where Kellogg was really the SS too. With the kidnapping of their children and death of their wife being the defining moment that splits his personality, ether into a ruthless merc or a Survivor.
