How Do You Beat the Guy in the Guantlet in Nuka World
How do you beat this guy in the power armor. I use the squirt gun on him and I have probably done a few thousand points of damage and he is still running strong.

I am about ready to drop this quest and move on to something else.

Did you not pay attention to the quest? They have you get the water gun to zap him with... when you hit him with the water gun his shield goes down and he can be damaged.

I genuinely do not understand how you managed NOT to realize that as they hold your hand pretty hard to the point that you can't even fight the guy without picking up the squirt gun...

I have done the water bit...

Seriously what. You use the squirt gun, but... you have to watch his behavior, he *gets his resistance back*.

Yes, I used the squirt gun over and over again. I don't bother firing at him till his electricity shorts out.

I have used mini-guns, missiles, legendary shotguns. Cannot bring the guy down and after about 15 minutes of game time I am tired of it.

You normally use the thirst zapper to temporarily disable his electrical shield, and while it's down he should be no tougher than most other people in power armour. You should be able to see his health bar drop from damage like a normal foe, and if that's not happening, something is going wrong.

I've been able to injure and kill him with critical hits even without disabling the electrical shield, but I don't remember offhand if I needed to have the Penetrator perk for this to work. NPC dialogue also ignores this possibility, attributing your victory to use of the thirst zapper even if you never fired it.

I will try some other time. He has worn me out.

I am doing what should be done. For some reason he is as fresh as when I started.

ok so this is the fight in a nutshell 1. squirt water untill he does a little jig and his shield drops.
2. swap weapons, use fists, pistol whatever you prefer and beat the crap out of him untill he gets his shield back.
3 go back to step 1, 2, 1, 2 until he dies, you win people gasp and you can move on with the quest.
if your running "TGM or TIM" turn them off there has been a reported instance where he get's the same buff as you from these console commands.

With a sufficiently powerful weapon, you can just overpower him conventionally. Instigating Sledge with full modifications is usually enough to do the job.

I have pumped 1500+ mini-gun rounds from a ashmaker which gives extra damage for fire, at least 6 missile rounds have hit, probably a dozen or more close up shotgun rounds at 87 points of damage each. I have lost track on what I have used on this guy, over and over again.

I have had less problems from a Queen Mirelurk and her young ones at Far Harbor.

What level are you? Is he showing up with the skull (too high) or?

I think it has to be one huge hit. Something like a Fatman or Instigating Gauss rifle. He's basically Dagoth Ur from Morrowind, invincible unless you can one-shot kill him (Or use the scripted method, in Dagoth's case, Keening and Sunder)

If you can't get the squirt gun ♥♥♥♥ to work, try grabbing a full upgraded Gauss Rifle, ideally with something like Lucky or Instigating, do some Psycho and Overdrive in order to pump a 2,000HP + Hit on him.

If you're melee with high Strength, an Instigating or Lucky Sledgehammer with Fury and Psycho + All the strength you can stack will do the trick too. An instigating Sledge with Rocket Stun coil on Overdrive critical at 10Strength can hit for 3,000 or so.
