How to force a NPC/Settler to a Object?
I have a short question. Is it possible to force a Settler or a NPC (With setcommandstate 1) instantly to a object via Console? Because most of my NPCs/Settlers don't reach my objects I have build. Im pressing E on a object to interact them with it and they don't move.

I have a guard mat (a place for NPCs to stand like a guard post without the ugly post) on top of the screen at starlight drive in and am trying to get a guy with a sniper to stand guard there. When I assign it to him, he goes to the bottom of the stairs and stands there, no matter what I do I cant get him to go up the stairs to stand guard.

Is there a way to force him up there?
Leaving the settlement and coming back may spawn him up there if he has no other guard posts to man

Unfortunately that hasn't worked for me. Been away and back several times and he just stands at stairs or in town center doing nothing. (though it says he is a guard)

There's also a sandbox expansion mod that helps settlers deal with multi story buildings.

Got a link?

Pretty sure it is this one.

I'll have to try that!
The problem is still there. Waiting doesn't help. Just a short answer. Is there a command for that or not?
I'm still confused as to whether you are trying to assign them to something they can be assigned to, or just something that their sandbox AI causes them to use once in a while?

edit: I did recently discover that any item which is designated as providing "more scrapping" will not have the settler stay next to it. Scrapping items are designed to have the settler wander around "finding scrap" and only occasionally returning to the station. Again, there is a mod to fix that.

The solution is simplicity itself. If the settler won't go where you want him to go (out of my bed for instance) I shoot him. Then I drag the body wherever I want. Usually to the nearest body of water, where the currents waft the trouble maker away.
Im trying to assign myself (player.placeatme 0000007) (setcommandstate 1) to object from a mod called "Torture Devices". Shooting doesn't help. It just kills my spawned NPC.
If you are spawning settlers with the console, don't expect them to have the same AI as proper settlers do (ones spawned by using the settlement requitment beacon).
Lets forget settlers. What about spawned NPCs or normal NPCs. Are you able to force them to a object? Whenever I try to let them interact with a object, they say "Cant go there" or "cant reach that".

This is true.

However, if they are available as settlers, then you can add such NPCs as settlers from Workshop menu.

Common problem, if the object wasn't made especially for assignment. AI does not rush directly object.

There might also be an issue with navigation, depending on how object was presented. NPCs/settlers might not get to object, if navmesh is missing.

I happened to test X-cross from that mod, when I was fiddling with an Arena build. Settlers were able to to use them, when I assigned them there.

As mentioned above, your spawned NPCs might have issues, if they are not available as settlers, or set as settlers from Workshop menu. Standard settlers should interact with those items (at least with X-crosses I tested) normally.
I think it has to do with navmesh but Im not sure. I really tried everything. Rebuilding the object, resurrecting, fast traveling away, setting the npc as follower and so on. Nothing seems to work.
If you place X-cross in Workshop mode and assign a standard settler to it, then do they not walk to use them in your game?
