IS THERE ANY MOD THAT WILL AUTO ASSIGN SETTLERS TO SHOPS/ETC??
The settlement mechanisms in F4 are as wonky and unrefined (buggy!) as they come. But to make things worse it would appear that you have to manually assign new settlers to all kinds of jobs around your settlement; with the exception of food production which settlers seem to tend to automatically).

Make the settlers occupy my shops and scrapyards on their own! I cannot and will not accept to move around 30 settlements constantly in order to have them run properly. I wanna play the game: that is kill, buy, salvage, sell, build - not babysit some stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI.

So please if there is any way i can auto assign settlers without a job to an emepty job PLEASE LET ME KNO

Also, at times (like 12 AM) the people i have assigned to work for stands arent even standing there at the stand, im using 2 settlement mods, Sims settlements and Better settlers , please help

Make sure that you've installed the mods correctly, and that they're in the right load order. Also make sure you've activated anything IN the mods that is required to configure the behaviors. Read the mods pages for that. I don't use either of those, as I like to manually move my people around.

If you build Vault-Tec Population Management System to your settlement then you can use it to assign unemployed settlers to different kinds of jobs without having to pick one settler at a time and assign him to a certain settlement object.

Personally I don't mind how the settler mechanics are implemented. It just gives me full control of everything. And assigning settlers still takes only 0.2% of the time you spend on settlement building. It's a quick job to do.

i have one built and when i click the button to find jobs for settlers and click which job, it then says "how many settlers would you like to assign to this job?" and i can't type of click anything after, not sure if it's a glitch or what

That's because all settlers have an activity schedule which is built into the game. That schedule is:

Midnight to 6am..........Sleep
6am to 8am.................Sandbox
8am to 8pm.................Work their assigned jobs
8pm to midnight...........Sandbox (usually getting hammered at the bar)

There's probably mods or console commands where you can adjust this but personally, I just leave it alone since it never bothered me.

It sounds like you have no unemployed settlers in your settlement.
Zekiran Oct 31, 2017 @ 1:56pm
^^ that. Always check your settlers. I have the mod that brings up "What's Your Name" and assigns them a name so I have a checklist of all my settlers with their jobs (and their clothing, because I'm like that) and it does make arranging things easier. There's often a discrepancy between the quantity shown in the workshop and how many you can actually find on site, but that's often because it qualifies provisioners in a weird way.

But if you don't have the option to click, that means you're full up on jobs and have no people to give a new job to.

I have a mod that shows every settler in a terminal and says I have 2 unassigned but when i go to the list it says they're all working, im thinking the unassigned ones are preston garvey and mama murphy?

It's possible that the Population Management System only works on regular settlers. After all companions and special settlers can't be assigned to all jobs. Original named settlers also can't be told to move to another settlement.
Zekiran Oct 31, 2017 @ 2:50pm
Yeah if you can't walk up to them and assign them something, like Murphy and Preston, they aren't counted in the available group but are still numbered in the quantity. They will automatically do farming and whatever, but they can't be assigned if they're not already inclined. If you cure Mama Murphy of her chems addiction she actually walks around and does things, but you can't tell her what to do.

That's not entirely true. You won't be able to assign NAMED settlers (special settlers) since their jobs are hardcoded in the game but you CAN assign dismissed companions to a job. I do it all the time.
