can't delete fallout 4 folder
i tried resetting permissions, i tried using the cmnd window, im the only owner of the game and its never been on a different pc, so im confused af why it keeps saying i dont have permissions to delete it when it literally says i have full permissions. what gives? using win 10, i assumed it was at least a functional operating system.

microsoft has always had a good OS followed by a bad OS
XP good
Vista Bad
Win 7 Good
Windows 8 bad
Windows 9 canceld, following their track record it would probably be good.
Windows 10 bad

Did you uninstall the game first?

i did have this issue a few days ago when i decided to wipeout all mods ive gathered and start on a blank slate, i thought it was due to steam still working on the folder though.
is your install location by any chance located on your C drive?
win 10 is very 'sensitive'' about that drive.

turns out the answer was uninstalling via steam then deleting the folder. hope this thread reaches the top of the google results so the next guy like me doesn;t go through the same frustration

Had a similar problem once about 2 years ago on a family members PC where I found a random folder had been created that I could not remove, ended up using a live Linux distro (from a USB thumb drive) to delete the folder.

usually means files in use, do it after a restart, before you invoke Steam.

Always a bad plan attempting to remove software/games by simply deleting the folder.
Always do a uninstall!

MS has has been catering to uninformed/new users for ages now,
why Windows would not let you do that!
aka idiot proofing to put it bluntly, no offense intended.

also, best is uninstall with programs-features, not with steam uninstall.
