reliable cap income? without cheating and not using water/crops
alright, so i was playing a lot of skyrim recently and felt like being sneaky with guns instead of daggers so i decided to do another playthrough of fallout 4. problem is, is that in skyrim there's like 50000 ways to make easy gold. pickpocketing, smithing, enchanting, radiant quests that give almost a 1000 gold for maybe 5 minutes of your time. but in fallout 4 what are the similarly easy way to make caps? i used to do the classic "put down 50 water purifiers and get 800 water a day and sell it for 15k" but i'm sick of doing a science character JUST for caps income.

any trade secrets? i'm looking for something as simple as skyrim's smithing system where you can buy ingots, create a weapon, and sell it for more than the ingots cost. easy profit. this might not be feasible in fallout 4 but i don't know nearly as much about this game as i do in skyrim.

oh and please no "plant 500 mutfruit" i really don't want to pick all that everytime i need money lol
also open to "entrepeneur" mods that put money making opportunities into the game.

Why do you need money at all? As you can see I have many hours in this game and I never buy anything. I think your playing the game wrong.

you could pick melons at abernathy farm. They give you caps for melons.

are all 1500 of your hours in the same save? because after 1500 hours of looting and having every settlement producing caps/crops/weapons vendors you probably don't have an issue with anything lol. i'm talking about early game. money for ammo/stims new gear, mods i can't build yet for weapons. lots to buy.

yeah cash is tough at first (the struggle is the fun).
You can get 104 prewar money at 'failed bank heist' near superdupermart-lexington, that respawns per visit. So that's 500 caps for you whenever you get too low.

"playing the game wrong"
its a video game, you can play however you want?

All my hours are not on the same save. Again, I ask, why do you think you need all this money? Your need 2000 caps to buy the settlement in Diamond City. After that there is no reason to ever care about caps. Sure there are some armor or weapons that are nice to have, but do you really need them? No. Just play the game, level, and progress in the story. You will find better weapons, better mods, that will then cost you nothing to modify your choice weapon at the workbench. You don't need money in this game. Feeling rich is fine, but it is useless in the grand scheme of things in this vitual world.

This. Sell any chems you don't use (I roleplay as a clean character who doesn't use any chems). Once you get the right perks, make chems and sell them.

sonic65101 does not condone the use, manufacture, and/or distribution of drugs.

Might be because all humanoid enemies go round raiding/fighting wasteland abominations/etc with approximately 3 bullets for their primary weapon.

The only steady, reliable income that doesn't require a lot of effort that I'm aware of is what you've already dismissed (water) also jet production can make a lot of money. Get a cow, some scrappers and wipe out the competition ;)

You wouldn't need to pick it yourself. Any crops leftover after the settlers have had their required food for the day goes into the workbench. So, just run around collecting profits from your settlements.

Settlers will only pick six "food" per day. 500 Mutfruit plants would require 85 settlers to pick it all.
