Best place for a player home?
I'm looking for a vanilla Place to inhabit with a workbench, a great view(possibly), and enough space to build a power armor display area/building. any ideas?

NordHagen Beach, I believe it's history comes from another Vault Dweller, but it's best cause you can build about 7-ish Concrete blocks into the water

Over Looks the Airport and had a nice little bandit camp site with a camp fire just north of you, can see at night.

Taffington Boathouse. Spectacur, mostly-intact house you can probably patch (or find a mod that completely restores the house). Lots of potential RP value and immersive play IMO. Plus, it's somewhat near the center of the game map so you can go mostly anywhere in a short notice.

Right alongside one of the walls at the family's modest little shack.

I prefer home plate so peasants don't steal my legendaries.

Starlight drive in is my goto home, since I got so much area to build a big mansion or many smaller buildings

I'm usually too obsessed with making things that look like the Level Designers could have built them, instead of indulging on grand edifaces to my vanity. For example this is my Hangman's Alley

May I recommend Spectacle Island. Aftr you clear out the indigenous inhabitants it's avery pleasant place to stay.

It's the only place I know of where you can build a home completely surrounded by water.

people generally just make a place in a settlement.

santuary hills starts with all the crafting stations. red rocket starts with most of them

Hangman's alley has a central location.

if you don't want to sacrifice a settlement which you probably should do since you can use supply lines and your settlers to grab all your resources and pool them for you, you can buy a home inside Diamond city and use that, but again, I would recommend picking a settlement and building a home there, as supply lines make your settlements supply lines make building things in a settlement not a matter of resources, purely a matter of time to set everything up.

Starlight or covenant. Starlight is large, flat and has water.
Covenant has premade houses and surrounded by concrete walls

Starlight Drive-In, Spectacle Island, Abenathy Farm, Finch Farm/Greygarden and County Crossing.

The first two have large, open spaces for massive building projects. Abernathy Farm has the largest ceiling limit. Finch and Greygarden can access the overpasses and County Crossing is open, close to downtown Boston, and is close to several other settlements.

There are plenty of other good locations as well but many of them are out of the way and hard to get to without fast travel.

My favourite building sites are Starlight in the early game, and Spectacle Island in the late game.

+1 to County Crossing
This is my main settlement in my Survival playthrough, honestly find it the perfect location.
