The Institute comes with free, all-in-one, time-saving medical treatment and the only fast travel point in the game, which you can play around by having your biggest base of operations in Hangman's Alley.
Railroad comes with...Deacon, I guess. Ballistic Weave is such a drag to unlock, but I think vertibirds stay available if you side with them at least.
That's what I normally do, and I was thinking of doing that in my first Surviuval run.
Institute fast travel gets you to CIT ruins, which is a central point of the world map and it also has enough space for a vertibird to land at.
The only one I definitely wouldn't want to join in Survival is the Minutemen. I can't REALLY be expected to manage all those settlements without fast travel, can I? Get out of here, Preston, Cait is my new best friend. Rebuild the Commonwealth without us.
