Horizon
Just a plug for an insane mod called Horizon. Changes basicaslly the entire game. Not super compatible with a bunch of mods though. I'm currently at level 4 with 7 1/2 hours played O.o. I'm afraid of everything.

Try it out if you want something really new, but I'd suggest a fairly clean mod list other than visuals effects. Anything that adds weapons and armor could mess up the balance.

I'd be great if you would include a link to the mod in your OP and, if possible, some screenshots you made to give us an impression of the mod.

I am currently doing my last vanilla run before I start modding this game so I'll keep this mod in mind, thanks!

great overhaul. It doesn't change the game that much, though. If you want a mod that really does a number to the game, try FROST. I have a character for Horizon mod and one for Frost. Both are must play mods once one is done with vanilla.

For sure, I'll update with some screenshots in a bit!

That looks good but i am hoping for an offical version. Either as an update to finish survival mode since it wa added late, or an item like this on the CC.

Balance is something i wont mod, but rely on the game maker to get right.

There's basically an entire subgame in the main game that has you building settlements and basically creating an empire with them. It gives you a fast travel option as well if you want one. It's made to be played on survival.

There is even an entire perk system overhaul with level limits. At levels 5, 10 and 15 you can choose a perk that allows you to unlock 5 perks. This is because the leveling is so slow. In this mod end game is around level 50 (obviously you can keep going).

Ammo is rare, healing during combat is even more rare and radiation builds up over time to be quite annoying. In addition to the other survival mechanics, it makes for a very slow methodical game. I'm really enjoying it. The idea of getting to the big level 5 is a huge thing now whereas I'd usually be at 10 at least by now.

This why i play iron man survival. Makes settlement stops about being very ready before heading out again.

Great screens by the way. Anything can be done with the Creation Kit it seems.

I'm at about the same point. Level 4 in about the same amount of time. Although I do like this mod in general, there are a few things that really are a step back.

First of all is the reduced XP and slower leveling. I would much rather see something that was closer. 7.5 hours and only level 4? Good God! What does it take to get to level 50? 500 hours?

Ammo is in short supply and eveything is a bullet sponge. Guess what? You really have to melee just about everything in the begining of the game.

There are so few usefull recipes for crafting that are available early in the game. I spent the last 3 hours of the game trying to get water purifier up and running. Why? Becuase I need 2 filters. I have not found any filters in all of my scavaging and 1 merchent had 1 filter in Covenant. Unfortunately, I could not afford the 70 caps for the filter becuase I just spent 230 caps on getting my radiation cured. :-( The reaso why I have radiation poisoning is becuase I have been drinking irradiated water and food becuase I have no filters for the purifier. :-( :steamsalty:

I'm going to keep on playing with this character, but I feel the need to go back and respec since I gimped strength and endurance pretty hard.

Yea, I stopped playing it. It was just too obnoxious. I played 12 hours at got to level 5. Now, that's fine i guess, but basically it was no reward of any kind for doing really anything. Enemies have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ weapons, no xp but somehow quests still give hundreds of experience. Also the obvious dislike of melee was pretty annoying since I started a pure melee build lol.
