why bethesda. why.
i would maybe support CC if.. they gave royalties to the modders. as it stands they get a pittance and it ends there.
That makes it even worse, I do not really understand why any mod maker would even consider such a deal in that case, a percentage of each sale I could see but a one of payment, I would not touch such a deal ever as a mod maker.
Espeically how much they are charging for what would be considered crap by most people. Now if they had a pip boy replacer something like pip pad that would replace they pip boy and work with everything for, ohh $1-3 I might be convinced to buy that.
if they got royalties then i would be excited because CC would spur the creation of profressional AAA grade mods eventually.
as it stands. we are in the worst possible place. mod authors can try and make a quick buck but aren't motivated to create quality. just to slightly edit what they already have done and still are providing for free on nexus.
this current method isn't going to spur any amazing mods
nobody is going to put in 100s of hours and recruiting tons of people to get paid 500 dollars once
great example is the 3D npc mod for skyrim.. which is being tested for SSE atm by the original creators.
the number of people invovled in that and the effort they put in... if you tell me one person should reecieve 500 dollar once and bethesda should make millions off of it i would say there is a problem.
If it doesnt produve any amazing mods that would be to bad and a disappointment. It can easily be ignored then as having no effect on anyone.
If it does help to create amazing mods i expect everyone to be cheering. :) Right?
..right..
my point is that the way they did it. it will not in any way spur the creation of amazing mods.
they need to give royalties to modders or the motivation is simply going to be to "work the system" and do the minimum possible effort to release a mod and get paid.
10 hours of work for 500 bucks is totally worth it. some modders can do stuff in less time im sure.
but 4000 hours of work spread between like 30-40 people for one shot of 500 bucks? is not even going to cover the cost of electricity used to generate the content.
I heard the chainsaw from Doom is supposedly going to be added soon. I might see how much that costs, and if it has a proper model/animations, I might spring for it.
It's not going anywhere, no matter how much the people here want to whine and complain or spam negative reviews. May as well see if something worthwhile comes along and if not, don't buy anything. Simple.
Yes yes, everyone who doesn't join your pointless crusade is dumb.
Get a life, dude.
