Manufacturing money
Does anyone know off hand what makes the most caps for the cheapest material cost? I can do the math later, just wanted to know if anyone knew off hand

I checked elsewhere but all it talked about was manufacturing expanded the mod, which I can't download.

Just want a good merchant roleplaying save

Jet is cheap to make (plastic and fertilizer) once you have Brahmin. Adding Flamer Fuel to it makes Jet Fuel which sells for a tidy profit.

Edit: Just make sure you have a business suit.

Water is not bad. But it has a base value of 20 and weighs 0.5

Jet Fuel has a base value of 60 and weighs 0.1.
Plastic is everywhere cost 3 if you purchase it in shipments of 25.
Flamer Fuel unless you are playing a flame toon is everywhere and costs 3.

Fertilizer is the most expensive thing to buy which is 12 when buying shipment of 25.

1 Jet + 5 Fuel = 1 Jet Fuel. So at 50% with CHA above 12 means 15 caps gets you 45.

I know of few things you can make and tripple your money even if you purchase all the ingredients.

I'm pretty sure those prices are correct.

Edit: It's possible you may only double your money. But still.

To add to this, flamer fuel is guaranteed to be found at the iron works plant near the slog making it easily found if you can take them out without much trouble, and brahmen troughs give fertilizer so free fertilizer :D

Yeah, I never buy the flamer fuel or the plastic since I collect tons of both. Fertilizer is the only thing I sometimes purchase and that is usually with surplus ammunition. So its actually free too.

And in Survival Mode with limited carry weight its not possible to carry enough Jet Fuel to become overloaded without first running all the vendors in DC, BH and GN out of caps.

Nothing comes close to the caps you make in traps.
traps are so heavy so how do you get to a trader in less than a real day?

It's about the long run for merchant roleplaying. Set Up shops in your settlement, you have access to the caps they make, directly for building if it's linked by supply lines. Then when you have 3 or 4 stores at each settlement, pop in every few days and get about 50-500caps leave it longer like go to a dlc area for a long period, come back and it stacks. most of my far off settlements have 4000+ caps to pick up.

I though all settlements shared banks for each type of store. If you clean out the caps at Sanctuary's Bar there will be no caps at any other settlement's bar until they respawn.

Or am I wrong about that?

The stores at the settlements will still have their amounts like 300-500caps-ish, but you'll see a small amount show up in the settlement storage. Starts of as 50caps the first day, then slowly grows, and it does this at every settlement too, it's also what you use as caps when you build in settlement mode at other settlements. most of my settlements construction for shops show 37K/3000 Caps as requirement, but I usually only carry 5000caps.

Same Settlement only has 300 Caps in storage
