When your using archive 2 you have to select DDS on the right dropdown menu. You dont for meshes. Archive 2 doesnt seem to work properly for sound files at all.
I my give the DDS option a try for the sound now though after the current save is finally finished.
i followed a tutorial though?.. he didnt have to do anything, he just moved the meshes into the program and extracted.
11:37 is the time stamp
BAE will let you select individual files or a full folder for extraction.
I use it to extract .dds files myself.
You know that you can even search for the file you want to extract, and that you need to click "extract" after selecting the file??
EDIT: wait are you extracting FROM a ba2, or trying to make your own ba2, bc that matters quite a lot..?
Hes extracting a folder, not a file, if it was a file, it would be done by now.
Im new to this. very new, so i dont even know how to select the whole folder,
for instance, if i selected the folder to be extracted, it would go in the folder..
and there would be sub folders, with files...
i dont want that, i need to extract the file, like i said at 11:37
I followed the tutorial, but i was given a message
'' unable to save'' or something.
I'll try flippys suggestion after im done with this session
I extract the entire Fallout4 - Textures2.ba2 for example.
Over write what i want to replace.
Then repack using Archive2 that comes with the Creation Kit. Using the DDS option on the dropdown menu on the right after clicking "new" before choose a folder to load. Than save using Fallout4 - Textures2.ba2 name.
Very easy once it is understood. Quick to.
Yep if you want to have loose files. Loose files hit performance. Especially alot of them.
Of course have 2 back ups or even 3 of the original .ba2
Lots of backups in case of a problem.
I only have about 7 mods but maybe between 7 and 30 gigs of "modified" files.
Those modified files are repacked into the originals so they dont hit performance or size at all.
that didnt answer the question xD
if you installed the mod recently, then i just need to know the steps you took
and that would be the problem solved.
it's a requirement..
(left of "filename only-tickbox) in BAE after opening the ba2.
Put the tick by the name of the file/folder and click extract.
If you're getting permission errors, run BAE as admin/extract to a custom folder.
