Fallout 4: Proper Rollback (All 8 Files) From v1.10.20 To v1.9.4
DISCLAIMER: I've done this just to help. The files found in the download are clean from any type of virus, malware, spyware, etc. But I will not be responsible for whatever problem you may find from downloading or using these files.
Also, if I'm breaking any rule or legal matter for uploading this, please let me know so I can take this thread and the files down.

IMPORTANT: F4SE[f4se.silverlock.org] has been updated and it already supports the newer v1.10.20, so I don't recommend rolling back if the older F4SE was the source of your problems. Try the new version instead and test your game. If your game is running okay, then you don't need this. The rollback described here is for those who want to stay on v1.9.4 for whatever reasons. After all, the new update only adds the Creation Club and its files, and actually didn't fix anything... not one thing :cgrazz:, and some mods were broken with the new version.

The idea of this rollback started in this thread. The reason: All the rollbacks uploaded are still missing files and they're still incomplete to recommend or use. Some were too hasty to upload without properly checking and re-checking first before uploading. But I was lucky enough to be offline during this update, so I was in a good & safe position to take my time and backup all the files and folders of the game while on v1.9.4, and did a complete CRC check on them. Then, I launched Steam and let the update happen. Once completed, I compared the updated game with the CRCs I already saved earlier and found that exactly 8 files were changed (7 files updated and 1 deleted) during this transition (and not 3 or 6 files like some were reporting) and also 26 new files were added (all of them are content related to the new Creation Club). Oddly, my Fallout4Launcher.exe file was not changed at all during this update (CRC before & after: 02445570). Once I had replaced all the modified/missing files with the older ones, everything worked exactly as before the update.

These are the exact differences:

Fallout 4 v1.9.4 CRCs:

Fallout 4\Fallout4.exe F79B309D

This is a temporary fix until all the mods you're using are working fine in the current version, or until the next time the game receives a new update. But until then, this should be helpful for those who want to properly stay on v1.9.4 with the original v1.9.4 files.

FILE DESCRIPTIONS, DOWNLOAD AND INSTRUCTIONS: I have uploaded everything to MediaFire. You will find the download link at the end of this post. The link will take you to a folder. There you will find these files:

Fallout 4 v1.9.4 (Files To Extract Over v1.10.20).7z (1,68 GB): This is the main file and needed to revert back to v1.9.4.
Fallout4Launcher.exe v1.9.4 (Optional - English Launcher).7z (841 KB): Optional download, in case your Fallout 4 Launcher (English Version) was modified or updated (mine wasn't).
Report - Fallout 4 v1.10.20.txt (2,36 KB): Basic info about the files (that info is present above in this post).

1. Download the required "Fallout 4 v1.9.4 (Files To Extract Over v1.10.20).7z", and the other optional files if you want.
2. Make sure Fallout 4 is closed and not running. Also Steam, just in case.
3. Extract and overwrite on Fallout 4's main folder ("..\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4").
4. That's it, launch Steam (if it was closed) and launch the game to play on v1.9.4.

If you use F4SE, remember to keep the older F4SE v0.4.2[f4se.silverlock.org] to use it with Fallout 4 v1.9.4.
Also, is not necessary to delete the new 26 added files because most likely they will be re-downloaded the next time the game will be updated, but it's up to you to decide what to do with them. They won't do a thing in the game without a plugin (ESP/ESL file) anyway, so it's safe to delete them.

After the download, feel free to re-upload to another place and post your links here in this thread, in case MediaFire takes my files down. My upload speed and bandwidth is not the best, so if that happens, it will take a considerable time just to upload them again.

Good luck, and I hope this help you all :ss13ok:

EDIT: Damn... :steamfacepalm:, my link was automatically removed by Steam. It's a MediaFire link, just copy, paste and join the download link into one single line, removing the space between "media" and "fire":

I would think doijng this then using the "steam backup" feature to acquire a reloadable hard copy would be awesome.

(does not include save files from games)

Thanks Azrael. I was about to uninstall because the "update" was preventing my game from running. This fixed it.
I can't believe they pulled this ridiculous cash stunt. These people are not thinking clearly.
It's not likely I buy another game from these "devs".

You should be okay. The saves are the same between those two versions (and also between past versions). I didn't have any issues, and from the posts of others in this thread, it seems they didn't either.

My game stopped working after this latest patch and even updating to the newest F4SE didn't fix it. THIS fixed it. Thank you!

I'm in tears and I could literally kiss you right now. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I am a n00b when it comes to mods, playing Fallout 4 with a lot of mods.

So the creation Club update made it so Fallout 4 won't even start. I click play, I get a black screen, and I go back to my desktop with no error message. If I delete Fallout 4 Custom .ini I can at least start the game, and some objects from some mods are still present, but it's pretty broken.

I'm downloading this rollback file, and I understand how to use it, but if anyone knows this exact issue and can help, that'd be great.

I don't even have any mods that require F4SE unless it was included in the mod somehow and I missed it, but everything worked before the update so the update must be what broke it.

EDIT: Made a copy of the current whatever/steamapps/you know the rest in case somthing goes horribly wrong here, at least that way I can start over if I make the issue worse.

@Rustbucket:

The way your game is crashing doesn't sound like a F4SE issue. If you had F4SE issues you'd be seeing some error messages. I'd suggest temporarily disabling all mods. After that see if it runs. If it does, re-enable them like 10 at a time and re-launch it until it crahes again so you can narrow down the suspect.

Doesn't Steam just update the game again because the version number is lower than then new version? Or does it just turn a blind eye if you updated once?
I'm still on my backed up v1.9.4 and 'convinced' Steam to stop touching it by another useful trick that doesn't force you to stay offline while playing. :steamhappy:

You save my life, my game even not start up with this update, even I don't have FOSE, only 'normal' mods

Big Thanks
I went into my backup and copied the libScePad, the two exes and the fallout esp thingies fallout is working again.

Id suggest for anyone to disable Fallout 4 in your firewall or learn to properly disable it from updating. Im about to google up how to disable the updates. ROLF
