Fallout 4: Proper Rollback (All 8 Files) From v1.10.20 To v1.9.4

DISCLAIMER: I've done this just to help. The files found in the download are clean from any type of virus, malware, spyware, etc. But I will not be responsible for whatever problem you may find from downloading or using these files.
Also, if I'm breaking any rule or legal matter for uploading this, please let me know so I can take this thread and the files down.

IMPORTANT: F4SE[f4se.silverlock.org] has been updated and it already supports the newer v1.10.20, so I don't recommend rolling back if the older F4SE was the source of your problems. Try the new version instead and test your game. If your game is running okay, then you don't need this. The rollback described here is for those who want to stay on v1.9.4 for whatever reasons. After all, the new update only adds the Creation Club and its files, and actually didn't fix anything... not one thing , and some mods were broken with the new version.

The idea of this rollback started in this thread. The reason: All the rollbacks uploaded are still missing files and they're still incomplete to recommend or use. Some were too hasty to upload without properly checking and re-checking first before uploading. But I was lucky enough to be offline during this update, so I was in a good & safe position to take my time and backup all the files and folders of the game while on v1.9.4, and did a complete CRC check on them. Then, I launched Steam and let the update happen. Once completed, I compared the updated game with the CRCs I already saved earlier and found that exactly 8 files were changed (7 files updated and 1 deleted) during this transition (and not 3 or 6 files like some were reporting) and also 26 new files were added (all of them are content related to the new Creation Club). Oddly, my Fallout4Launcher.exe file was not changed at all during this update (CRC before & after: 02445570). Once I had replaced all the modified/missing files with the older ones, everything worked exactly as before the update.

This is a temporary fix until all the mods you're using are working fine in the current version, or until the next time the game receives a new update. But until then, this should be helpful for those who want to properly stay on v1.9.4 with the original v1.9.4 files.


FILE DESCRIPTIONS, DOWNLOAD AND INSTRUCTIONS: I have uploaded everything to MediaFire. You will find the download link at the end of this post. The link will take you to a folder. There you will find these files:

• Fallout 4 v1.9.4 (Files To Extract Over v1.10.20).7z (1,68 GB): This is the main file and needed to revert back to v1.9.4.
• Fallout4Launcher.exe v1.9.4 (Optional - English Launcher).7z (841 KB): Optional download, in case your Fallout 4 Launcher (English Version) was modified or updated (mine wasn't).
• Report - Fallout 4 v1.10.20.txt (2,36 KB): Basic info about the files (that info is present above in this post).

1. Download the required "Fallout 4 v1.9.4 (Files To Extract Over v1.10.20).7z", and the other optional files if you want.
2. Make sure Fallout 4 is closed and not running. Also Steam, just in case.
3. Extract and overwrite on Fallout 4's main folder ("..\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4").
4. That's it, launch Steam (if it was closed) and launch the game to play on v1.9.4.

If you use F4SE, remember to keep the older F4SE v0.4.2[f4se.silverlock.org] to use it with Fallout 4 v1.9.4.
Also, is not necessary to delete the new 26 added files because most likely they will be re-downloaded the next time the game will be updated, but it's up to you to decide what to do with them. They won't do a thing in the game without a plugin (ESP/ESL file) anyway, so it's safe to delete them.

After the download, feel free to re-upload to another place and post your links here in this thread, in case MediaFire takes my files down. My upload speed and bandwidth is not the best, so if that happens, it will take a considerable time just to upload them again.

There are many tools for that. Personally, I prefer RapidCRC[rapidcrc.sourceforge.net]. It's old, so the arguments set by the installer to the context menu don't work in modern Windows OSs. But you can fix them manually (delete them and create a new one in the "Sent" folder), or just download the "Binary Only" ZIP and configure it manually as you like.

Nope, I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit). And I remember that RapidCRC's installer has the same issue under Vista too. But since it's easy to fix, is not a big deal. I've been using it for such a long time that I forgot since when... LOL . It's hard to stop using it: It's small, quick, and complete

Just tried the latest F4SE and the Creaion Club update and there are still issues.

If you run mods like Achievements Enabled it errors out wtih Unexpected Game version and Achivements are Disabled becuase some mods are hard coded to v 1.9.4 of Fallout 4.

Rolling back to 1.9.4 and using your files solves that issue. So FYI that it may be wise to use Azrale's rollback and F4SE's 04.02.7z files for a few weeks until the Mod authors get their mods to recognize and run with the latest Fallout CC update.

As of this second, if you update F4SE, nearly every mod works except for Transfer Settlements and Achievements Enabled. If you want to use either of these mods, this method is great.

Don't forget to change your steam settings to only update fallout when you run it so that it doesn't push the new update automatically.

Place Everywhere is also borked for the time being, but the mod author has announced he is going to update it.

ETA: Place Everywhere and Achievements Enabled are updated (wow, fast!). Transfer Settlements is not, but I think the author was working on an update to address issues from the last release anyway, so keep an eye out for that one.

Thanks for your great work, mine was meant only as a temporary quick-and-dirty (but safe) "patch" for proper working of Fallout, F4SE and some mods awaiting their updates. That's why I have only replaced the files that are strictly necessary for running F4SE 0.4.2 without bugs or glitches, so you can quickly and easily return to version 1.10.x when needed.
