Nuka Worlds Colter Boss

I have done this Guantlet run once now, and read a few wiki n comments, and tried to prepare before hand , without wanting to use the squirt gun, ..
I use a explovies mod, that uses a detanator and that you can craft or buy them, so upon making it to colter, I ran around dropping these mines and explosives around him, and detonated but didnt a single bit of damage, ..
I know his power armor is electrically and continually charged, and I'm sure I grabbed the power core from back area that wiki said , would reduce his armor defense by 20% I think it was, I really didnt want to use the squirt gun to short his armor a out and wanted to try out other things,..
I also use a mod called exalt implants, and one implant is stealthed based untill you stand up and become visable again I wished I tried that I think I coulve pick pocketed his fusion core and made him get out of his suit possibly ... >_<
I have thought about bring a missile launcher next time , I think for the that part , the game actually makes him unkillable Untill it see's you use the squirt gun =/ ... ?
What ways have people tried and found succesful to kill him ?

Squirt Gun is the answer, squirt gun and then Wounding missile launcher with a Quad(?) barrel

Sense of personal achievement, maybe? Only thing I could venture to guess.
I'm not sure it's even possible without squirting him. But why impose extra difficulty anyhow?
Few squirts, a frag to his feet at Demolitions Expert 4, and a spray of automatic fire, and he goes down easy peasy.

It doesn't matter why would someone try to kill Colter without squirt gun. The questions are:
1) Is it possible at all to kill him without squirt gun?
2) Who and how killed him without squirt gun? (If possible)


The thing is: there's a note on Fallout wiki about Gage's dialogue. No matter if player uses Gage's advice and squirt gun or not, Gage always says player used it. And from this note follows that there is a way to kill Colter without squirt gun but it wasn't intended to be possible by devs.

Yes I tent do to agree on all postings, you still have to use the squirt gun, the whole water and electricity thing , which brings my to ask if he's hooked to power lines per say, does that mean he wouldnt be using fusion and so it'd be a possible wasted effort to stealth sneak and try to pick pocket the core thus forcing him to climp out ??
I Know gage and random raiders will I used and raiders will if gage didnt help you you'd dead , ( yeah right) heh,
Tho another way , to think about or of it, would be, he'd be insulted that your using such thing on him , ..
I'd love to be able to use one of cait's lines at that point, " hows it feel to be beat up by a girl "
I know he's easy peasy out of the suit, I just would've liked other in game options to bring him down, or pehaps bethe could've put in a nice hidden option that the player could discover, after kiting colter around.. squrt is going to be my last fun atempt

I see a Youtube video. A player having 2 stars at rob skill can access Colter inventory and add some weapon and ammo he find at Fort Haggen satellite. I try first step of this (2 stars at rob skill) for add some live grenade to Colter inventory but not works.

I can't recall if it actually requires the Penetrator perk (which I had at the time), but you can do without the thirst zapper if you're willing to build up critical hits in VATS and chip through Colter's defenses that way. Your regular hits will do nothing, but they'll still count towards accumulating critical hits, and those will damage him.

It's more tedious and relatively unrewarding, since the game doesn't properly acknowledge it anyway, but it's definitely possible. I did it just for the sake of it.

Reverse pickpocket? Thats how I kill him every time. Does, and has always worked on him. No squirt gun needed. O_O

He mostly is, but I can personally confirm the use of critical hits being able to damage him as noted above, even without the thirst zapper.

I couldn't say whether the developers intended that critical hits would breach his electric shield, but it works.

Critical damage may be coded as something extra, and not an increase in the weapons damage itself. It is likely tracked separately as there are some effects that specifically boost critical damage but not normal damage (like the perk magazines). So the damage of the initial attack gets ignored, but the additional damage of the critical hit itself doesn't.

It's about as practical as 'placing a bunch of turret drones inside the final sealed DiMA memory and waiting until all the seeker bots have shot it enough times to defeat its hp'. I did that one time. Took like 25 minutes, and ... honestly all I needed to do was move some bricks at weird angles to get it done in 3 minutes after I got bored this time around.

It's doable. It just. Isn't worth doing.
