Double Input bug for controllers

I had to disable steams way of using controllers while also having Fallout 4 be ran as admin (which should be the case always) this stopped the double input bug i was facing, running in admin mode fixed a bug where i couldnt use my D-pad at all. so thats cool... Hope this helps you too

I browsed for solutions both on steam and from google and found jack squat other than it
is a bug or some shiz.

If you're using an Xbox controller, check the controller port light on it. If it's assigned to port 2 it can cause double inputs, a simple unplugging and plugging it back in should clear it up. If that doesn't work, then reinstalling the drivers may be more effective.

The issue may also be present in other controllers (Like PlayStation ones.) that are run through programs to emulate an Xbox pad. If you're not using anything like that then just disregard this post.

I use an Xone Elite controller, so i think it was steam making the double input because of the new steam controller config options so when i disabled it the game only read the Xone controller and not both it and steam or something like that, good advice though

what type of controller do you use and did you change the config ingame?

I use a steam controller and a ps4 controller, I use the official Bethesda config for the controller

what i would do is unplug or disconnect the controller you aren't using at that moment and seeing if that fixes it, if that doesnt try defaulting your config then repeating the above while reanabling your config, if that doesnt work then you might need to look into other solutions because i dont have either of those controllers to test it on :(

Turning off steam overlays also works. I just had this issue last week.

What do you mean by "disable steams way of using controllers"? I'm trying to use my Steam controller with Vampyr and keep running into this bug. I've disables 360 controller support, but that's the closest I've found so far...
