Bullet sponge fix?
anyone know of a mod that keeps the game more difficult but keeps damage from becoming ridicules? I find playing on easier settings too easy but can't stand the way you need to hit someone 30 times to kill them on harder settings.

"Unbogus Health Scaling" scaling by Ethical Lune and "Survival Options" by Jekod for survival mode to alter incoming and outgoing damage.

You don't need a mod to just lower your hp. Use the console.

Not talking just weaking myself. I'm talking about all the enemies. Sure some should be tougher like deathclaws and radscorpions, power armor etc. But Joe some raider with trash bin for armor taking a 50 cal to the face but stands there looking at you.... very stupid.

So many games do that too.
I wish harder difficulty made enemies smarter or more plentiful rather than just tankier.

I use the ''War Never Changes'' mod. Highly recommend if you want something more realistic.

Perks have been completely redone to avoid the ''Lol I have a perk that increases weapon damage like wtf is this?''

Every race has it's own strength and weakness now. Humans die in a few hits if not one from a powerfull weapon (including yourself), Mutants are sturdy and slow (and stupid), Raiders are absolutely brutal, and Gunners are well organized.

Deathclaws are a absolute nightmare if you ever encounter one, I myself am a bit of a pacifist so I just sneak around everything. But you will get absolutely destroyed without proper planning.

I recommend you also install the Deadly commonwealth to add more kinds of enemies you can encounter like Raider juggernaut's etc.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24980/? Deadly commonwealth.

Read them carefully and see for yourself. I play with them on all the time.

Actually if you play on Survival mode(hardest mode) you don't need to hit someone 30 times to kill them.

In Survival mode you die very easy but everything else dies very easy too, except the big Mutants,Radscorpions,Deathclaws and heavy robots etc.

There is a mod for instant headshots kill which you can choose to be just for the enemies or for you as well.

And if you hate the Survival mode feature of not being able to save unless you sleep there are mods that fix that too.

Survival mode is still pretty bullet spongy in my opinion, enemies should go down in 2-3 hits no matter what gun you use on them, unless they are wearing some kind of armor.

A Gunner is no different than a Raider, they just play a different role and use other tactics.

Survial mode is pretty fine. at least as far as I've played for damage I've made it to level 84, I still randomly die to surprisingly difficult enemies, though much less now that I'm 84.

Enemies generally die to my explosive auto pipe rifle.

got a mod turning off alot of survival modes features. so I can save and fast travel and my carry weight is not nerfed. I killed the basic needs as well.

Ammo still has weight, disease is still a thing.

keep your endurance low and you won't gain much HP from leveling up.

If enemies went down in 2-3 hits regardless of gun then that would make gun upgrading pointless. It also couldn't get difficult unless you massively increased the number of enemies (and removed vats because the deliverer could take down like 10-20 in one go) or reduced your hp to a point where the entire armor crafting and upgrading thing becomes pointless too.

Well maybe not 2-3 hits but you get the idea, all guns shoot bullets so there isn't really much of a difference. Weapons have a slight damage difference because of the caliber, all weapons have different ranges and mechanics. You should also take into account the equipment and the skills the enemy has and what type of enemy it is. 3 good equiped gunners are already enough for me to get completely destroyed. If even one of them shoots back at you with a automatic rifle spraying all over the place, you are in big trouble if you get hit. So either you bring some good armor, or make sure you don't get seen while sniping.

You may want to work on your *build* and your weapons (mods)

I'm confused. Are you saying you just want enemies to become easier to kill? If so try a lower difficulty. If you still want the survival aspect you could try giving your character the best guns in the game. I promise you that with the best guns, even on "very hard" difficulty it won't take much time to dispose of any enemy.

Sigh I'm not good at explaining I know. But I talked about the War Never Changes mod, where it's hard against hard and no more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ perks to increase your weapon damage but instead more accuracy. You die just as fast as the enemy does because the weapons will do the same damage for you and for them and that is what I like. The last thing I need is easier enemies.

I was talking about the OP here because he didn't want bullet sponges anymore. And the War Never Changes mod fixes just exactly that.
