Cant open Vault 81 door

I press the button but door does not open. I lured enemy with me to there but if in combat the button cannot be pressed and if i hide enemy get way when i am pressing the button. What could i do? Would be stupid if that will be only place i cant go. I will try to do every possible thing in one gaming through (i know i will have to load backwards to get all endings)

A vault 81 security guard will talk to you over the consoles radio and the overseer will ask you to bring 3 fusion cores to get in.

P.S.
If you have an Automatron following you the guard won't talk and you won't be able to get in. (it's some weird bug I got when I had one following me)

Did not work for me. I sended my companion to home (it was ada) before i entered vault 81 area. Only thing i can press is the desk where guy try to open vault door but nothing happens when he hit the button. One time when i brought enemy there i hearded voices from vault but nothing happened. Is there some intercom i should interact with or such? I cant use google or youtube or such because of firewall so i am having hard time to finding answer.

the intercom in in the console you use to open the door the guard will say "hold it right here, vault 81 security". try killing the enemy outside then wait 24 hours game time and then come back or try verifying the game's file integrity

May I ask why your firewall is blocking normal internet activity? Plus how are you interacting with the discussions fourms and the steam store without running into a problem with your firewall?

I did some research for you an found that this seems to be a common bug but everything I said in my previous comments should fix it but if all of that fails launch the game and type in the console "setstage b8464 300"

Console command seemed to be fixing situation. I havent used any commands before so now i used and right after vault door opened i saved and quited game and started it again. There shouldnt be any effects towards achievements or such?

As far as I know, it does not disable achievements, but with this game offically supporting mods, I don't know. I do know mods disable achievements. If your achievements are disabled just load a previous save.

Spoilers about vault 81:
You're not missing anything in vault 81 there is not much there only 2 missions but you do get another follower that later creates another mission for you. As far as that goes, it's not a big deal if you can get in or not. And everyone in there are a bunch of d!cks.

its new to me that sidekicks and lvl 4 traders count as mission now, i ever thought they are npc.
so what are the other things in there than? the tour? or the speech before the class? or the bloodspending? or the retrive of the cat? or the cure of the junky brother? (ok, sure u need to fail that one so u can get u lvl 4 general trader chick) or the hidden vault? (hello Curie, sidekick with the best max faction bonus ever in survival, u are a mission now Termianl Force told us) .....

For the main problem: u need to kill first this pesky bear that aggros u from outsdie over the vaults entrace when u enter the cavern. than u use the terminal and the security speak to u. if thsi dont happens i make a bet u have the standard problem called MOD.

If your relationship with Curie is maxed she will ask you to seek a doctor that can turn her into a synth. And if you paid any attention to Matsku12 response you would see that his problem was solved.

Happened to me too.There is a Yao Guay somewhere around the vault entrance,go out and wait it out,it will charge you eventually and then you can access the door.

Apart from a place to trade, sleep, heal, etc.. Buy some pretty damned good armpieces. Ya, it's completely useless, even the free room!

1) everyone is dead because my robot somehow p!ssed them off and killed every last person in the vault (killable children mod)

2) sleep is for the weak

4) they sold sh!t armor and guns

5) who cares. if I can't modify my robots, guns, and armor there then ♥♥♥ that place

For me it was over Vault entrance. I dont know is it the same but one i killed. I killed it allways before going to vault so hard to think it was about it. Anyway that console trick fixed it. I have mod that enable achievements with mods.
