removing bodies to clean a setlement
i'm trying to start a new setlement but the place is filled with ghoul dead bodies. a few of them i was able to pick and place in the wood, but with some a get a message informing that "the item is too heavy to carry" and i can't move it.

what am i doing wrong? the bodies seem exactly the same size. is ther another way to move a body without mods?

chop an arm or leg off and then you will be able to carry it. The ghouls there at Sunshine Tidy, come back after you leave.

open the console, click the body, type REMOVE and the body gets deleted

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch cleans up most pre-placed bodies from the settlement (in time) once settlement workshop is activated.

Scrapping mods (mostly Scrap Everything) can scrap corpses from settlements, if you are using one.

Correct commands would be:
  • Disable which hides the selected reference object, but does not actually remove it from the cell.

  • MarkForDelete which will delete the selected reference object permanently.

MarkForDelete requires a bit more care, because you may accidentally delete part of the ground, if you are not actually targeting the correct reference object. It might be best to disable the object (enable to retrieve) before typing the command, so that you know it is targeting the correct reference object.

most of them despawn eventually.

Most of them do not despawn eventually, without UFO4P. Several scripts were missing or bugged.

This is why you get to stare a dead female body in the middle of the settlement (which will respawn after removal) until end of days.

BGS forgot few things. :/

As said, UFO4P has fixed body cleanup scripts. I does require all DLCs though. Steam is a bit annoying in that game list does not show if you own DLCs. If you do, then using the patch should prevent them from respawning again.
