Far Harbor Quest Sequence?
Apparently, there are quests than can lock the player out of certain quest lines and/or stand alone quests. I've read up on the subject but can't suss it out. I...think...the MQ sequence is the one that needs careful handling.

First, nae spoliers please. I want to play FH without knowing too much at the outset.

In short, is there anything I should not do if I want to keep my options open?

Second, can I just roam around FH's map for a while, after the quest that is triggered upon landing on the dock and the Gulper etc attack?

I have avoided the temptation to watch too much play through footage. From what I've seen so far, the atmosphere is bloody marvellous. Feels like a film adaptation of Lovecraft's, The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

Let say this way
Some place are NPC that have sidequests... Ask every bigger places can you Help them...
The situations you will deal with in Far Harbor's end game are basically these, all spoiler-tagged:

- Decide either to turn off the windmills and make the fog invade Far Harbor (the village), killing everyone there, to destroy The Nucleus by triggering the launch of the nuclear bombs in the submarine or to deceive both parties into a state of virtual peace with the help of DiMA;
- Decide either to convince Far Harbor to spare Acadia, or to assault it with Far Harbor townsfolk;
- Decide either to destroy Acadia with the help of the Brotherhood, capture the escaped synths with the help of the Institute, or simply put Acadia in contact with the Railroad to assure synths have a safe haven in there;

How you deal with these situations will, obviously, lock you from other options you did not choose, but in Far Harbor the conflict between all factions can be resolved without bloodshed. It's up to you who to spare or who to destroy.

When I played through Far Harbor, I can only think of one thing that might have broken any other quests, and that would have been prematurely picking a side. I eventually played all factions through to their endpoints and it should become apparent when that happens.
Almost everyone ended up happy by the time I left :)

Yeah, you can roam the island pretty much at will - barring the danger of course :), but you will need to interact with all sides to flesh it out.

I dunno if this helps but ..

That's enough info folks - much appreciated.

Today, I spent ages trying to figure out why my char kept switching to 1st to 3rd person without warning. Was going nuts until I figured out I must have been accidentally hitting the scroll wheel. It was at that edge between the two modes. I was scrabbling around trying to figure out settings. All it needed was me to push the scroll wheel forward to max.

Just as well I didn't post a thread. I'd have felt like a right berk once someone pointed out the obvious.

Don't feel bad I once did a complete reinstall due to a peanut being wedged between two keys.

I still had to dislodge the peanut.

'berk', Cockney rhyming slang = Berkeley Hunt.

The only thing I will say about Far Harbor (has to not spoil anything) visit each factions location first then decide what you want to do.
