Put some bacon on a plate. Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Yes I said microwave. No you're not going to eat it (this is for science!).
Now get another peice and put it in the microwave for 3 minutes.
Or should it be "Zoology"? Probably best to stick with the more neutral "Taxonomy". The intelligent Ghouls might be offended if they were lumped in with Ferals.
As for the scientific explanation, I'm not really sure what are the effects of long term ionizing radiation exposure on human tissue/fat/muscles.
Not doing that (because I have no science bacon left and my science budget has been cut) but a quick microwave/bacon googling shows me that the 3 minute bacon is dried up and crispy and the 30 second one is kinda raw. And that's exactly what I said in the post.
Why does more radiation make ghouls look bloated, fleshy and drooping while less makes them look dried up and crusty?
Sorry for wanting to talk about a game on the game's forums.
That is basically because in popular culture, radiation is said to mutate creatures and make them grow out of control, ignoring the evolution, LOL. It is not scientifically accurate, but it helps create the atmosphere, compose the lore and make a justification for the presence of monsters in the wasteland.
This is also hilarious, to be honest, lol.
Just ignore stupid responses such as that and stick to the debate :D.
Now we have switched from a discussion to a meta-discussion.
They are alive and suffering Horribly.
Every Feral you kill your actualy doing them a favor.
Where normal ghouls look after themselfs. Maybe get more exersise. Cleaner living and sleeping in beds eating better food.
Its like when yousee a crack head and they are all withered and droopy because they arent looking after themselfs. Thats my theory anyways :)
These are good points.
And OP haven't replied to mine yet, lol.
