Minutemen radiant quests only sends me to two places?
I'm trying to get Preston to like me so I'm doing the minutemen quests, but they are all the same. Literally the exact same. This is what I do:

1. Go to the The Slog and talk
2. Kill raiders
3. Tell settlers and Preston
4. Go to Greentop Nursery and talk
5. Build defenses and help defend them
6. Tell settlers and Preston

Repeat. I've done these exact steps 6 times now, and Preston "loves this" every time, but it's so boring! I'm only sent to The Slog and Greentop Nursery, and I only get to build defenses or kill raiders. There's never synths or wild animals or a kidnapping or anything, never any other settlements needing help or any good places to build new ones.

This has to be a glitch, right? Or am I just extremely unlucky??

You're simply unlucky, probably.

You could try acquiring those quests not through Preston, but listening to Freedom Radio, to see if the objectives or places become a little more varied.

Simply tune it in, and wait until the radio operator warns about a settlement in need for aid.

Okay, I will. If the radio sends me to Greentop Nursery again I'm just going to send Preston to outpost Zimonja and call him a lost cause.

I noticed that when I sent Preston to the other side of the map, he started to give me quests closer to his new location.

Perhaps go visit him in Zimonja and see if he sends you to some other settlements than Slog or Greentop Nursery?

prestons place has nothing to do with it, at least not in my games. he sit in santuary and send me to warwick and lighthouse for example, reminds me i still must clear the house on the coast for him....

what surprises me is that he dont send u to tenpins first, its a 100% first for me. guess because this guys ever link u to corvega if u havnt already visited it.

for the liking: take him as companion and do the nice guy thing, max fction in no time.

as much as i love this game, the radiant quests are an error on Bethesda's part. I usually ignore them.

Well, at least those - sometimes boring - quests help keeping it warm after the main questlines are finished.

I agree some more effort should be put in the implementation of these quests to avoid forcing us to do the very same objectives over and over again. There are some good examples of radiant quest generation algorithms in other games.

If I may add to the already helpful information here, you do not have to repeatedly do these Quests by the way (just in case you didn't know that). They are optional and are given out constantly by Preston and others, for as long as you want the Loot/Experience/Affinity/etc.

If you are 'sick of them', abandon them for a while and pick them up later when you feel you don't have much to do.

radiant quests would have been acceptable, maybe even good, if they would send you to areas you haven't explored yet. I kept getting sent to the Corvega factory. I disliked Corvega the first time around, hated it the other 3 times i was sent here. And other times radiant quests sent me to college square (the subway with the ghouls).

haha what's with that damn place?

I hated the Corvega Assembly Plant since the first time too and I try to ignore anything there after that and I've read nothing but hatred for the place haha
why?

I remember doing one of these quests before where I was asked to rescue a kidnapped settler.

I rescued the kidnapped settler then got another quest about another kidnapped settler. Turned out to be the same person.

other than the interesting mama murphy info in the computer, it is a boring "dungeon". Nothing interesting to see and a lot of enemies.

If you progres main story too far, in favor of rr or institute, mm quests remain auto generated and can no longer do their main objectives. I think for institute, is when you get quest for reactor.

Now that you mention it, that could have something to do with it. Greentop Nursery and The Slog are very close settlements, so maybe draggin Preston with me causes him to send me back and forth between the two? I know he sent me all around the commonwealth when I had him in sanctuary though.
