Help Please: CBBE/Body Slide
Hi, first off i should say I don't have alot of experiance with modding and so i do use Nexus, in fact this is the first game i have modded, also that I have followed the guides in installing e.g make sure in install CBBE first then Body Slide, and i decided to make any changes out of the game which i know means i have reload the game everytime i want to see changes but i thought if did it this way i wouldnt need to install F4SE and the other mod that requires F4SE to run, which would mean less chance i mess something up.
I also watched the Youtube vid Mod Clinic 3 which the Body Slide mod page says to watch to learn how to use it and I have followed it to the letter. However I don't see any graphic changes from CBBE in-game and neither any changes that i make in Body Slide have any effect in-game either.

Thank you for anyone taking the time to reading this, and if anyone can me fix I thank you in advance.

So, the game is still using the vanilla body? Did you enable modding in your Fallout4Custom ini?

You can't mess up the game by using F4SE. It requires nothing else that you run the game through the launcher. That is all. It really is simple as that.

If you made body or clothing related changs, you will have to build meshes from big button at the bottom to save them. For each body and item.

Otherwise you will need to run Batch Build. If you are using LooksMenu, then create Morphs as well.

I do not remember how Mod Clinic presented this. I need to watch it again. Basically:
  • The body form will be selected from second droplist at the top of the main window, before you batch build the content. This is the body form that you use.
  • If you make any changes to body or clothes, use Build option to save changes.
  • When you run BodySlide Batch Build, game will ask you which nude meshes you wish to use. NeverNude = Never Nude (uses underwear). CBBE = Nude.
  • If you have any other conflicts between items or bodies then select versions you wish to use from BatchBuild dialogue.
  • Let BodySlide run.

Make sure that you have edited the ini to enable modding. Another thing is when you install bodyslide I think you have to locate the cbbe folder or something like that. If this is done wrong then bodyslide will not work, but cbbe still should. And not to accuse you of anything, but I have had friends with pirated copies and certain mods didn't work for them.

NexusModManager is a good start to do all that with.

Yes i have done all those things as the video said i even made made an 'All Outfits' Folder so it was easier to batch build.

You gotta add these lines to your Fallout4Custom ini
[Archive]

sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Thank you so much for the help, i guess i did forget to do this enable modding, i'll will try this and let you know if it work's but i just wanted to check currently the second line reads like this;
sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\

Do i just delete STRINGS\ and leave it blank as you have, yes I know that seems like a dumb question, but i just wanted to check to make sure you didn't just clip the end off or something by mistake, or do i need to add something else?
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Also do i just add the line (bInvalidateOlderFiles=1) at the bottom of the other lines in [Archive] or at the start?

You don't need the STRINGS thing, the game will load all kinds of loose files if you leave the space behind the = blank, strings included.
You can add the lines anywhere within the ini, shouldn't matter where.

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\

Was the old way of doing things, As stated above all you need now to enable modding is the

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

In ya custom ini.

Also is there any reason you're using Fase?

Yeah that's what i have done,thank you for the info though. Also, no I havn't downloaded F4SE yet I was only going to install it if this didn't work and I was then going to try using that mod that allows you to use Bodyslide in-game, but require's F4SE to work, 'NewFaces' or something like that.
Ilja Aug 6, 2017 @ 3:58pm
Did you mean LooksMenu? That is a good mod. Author is the one working with F4SE.

Seeing how big leaps F4SE is taking, there is no reason not to use it in the game. I have a feeling that we are going to go in to dynamic patching of several keywords after one or two updates. That is going to make working with messy FO4 records a lot easier.
