Find the Laser in Jalbert Brothers Disposal

I have this quest under the Miscellaneous section. Once I kill a mole rat in Jalbert Brothers Disposal and attempt to loot it, the quest completes. The mole rat has a regular Laser Pistol at one of its lootable items.

1. How did I get this quest? I don't remember.
   
2. Is it bugged, or is it working as intended?

Just seems like a weird / joke quest.

Those quests usually come from a note or terminal entry. Often you'll find a note on a dead body which will provide you these quests. They can be find a gun, drug cache or caps.

That's sort of what it is. It just points you at some random location to find some random bit of loot.

OK, kewl. I felt bad just vendoring the laser pistol, but it was so ordinary.

Yeah I've gotten that radiant quest from a note. usually off a dead mail carrier.

its normally in a chest somewhere. its a not unique weapon, should probably at least have a random legendary mod IMO but whatever.
