Vault-Tec Overseer Bug
On the quest "A Model Citizen", we interviewed the "candidates" and instructed to talk with the overseer. Regardless of what I do, she is bugged and simply says the same line over and over about it being so nice to talk to actual people. There is a way through console to force completion of the quest, but, I don't know what the command is to do it. Wiki says the quest ID is xx004840. Anyone know the console command to force complete this quest?

Well, that forced the completion, but, there is no prompt for the next quest. Barstow just says how strange it is having people around. Funny thing is, when I loaded right before the interview process (have redone the interview process 3 times now), it shifted to ANOTHER bug where after completing all three interviews, she goes and sits at her desk, and when I try to talk to her she asks if I'm ready to continue with the interview which then sticks on the second guy in an interview loop.

And people say this game isn't buggy....yeahhhhhhhh

Is your game vanilla or modded?

If I may try to find out where you are - I am not sure where you are in the Quest - but there is a point where you have to build things (Vault 88 items). It's a little confusing, because the Pip-Boy (and pop-up message) will just say "talk to ______" but you actually have to Build something first, THEN "talk to ______", to progress... I had to muddle around with this the first time, too.

Yes, there are different steps of building the desk, exploring, etc. The interview of new settlers is the last step of the quest. After you interview the three settlers, you have to talk again to the overseer to end the quest. That's the point she bugs out, when you try to talk to her after the interview. I'm not the only one, either. There's two others who posted this same thing on these forums...one back in January this year. I may delete the dlc and reinstall. Not sure yet if I want the hassle of a buggy BS questline or not. I finished Automatron. May look at Far Harbor, Nuka World, or whatever now.

I just completed this quest an hour ago grinding Curie affinity , everything worked perfectly. Repair the generators, all of them, connect wires correctly.

Hmmm... although it may not help you directly, I hope it is encouraging to hear that I bought the Vault 88 DLC when it was on sale just last month(?) and played through that Questline with 2 Characters. That's so odd, I'm sorry to hear it didn't work for you.

I'll try playing again and see what happens at that spot you are talking about (I have a 3rd Character that is close to that again).

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head, is: Did you give them Vault 88 Jumpsuits and Pip-Boys from the Respawning Containers? I think that at the least that one guy needed to be 'outfitted' to continue and start building the Vault 88 structures "experiments".

Repair generators? You mean the three workshops? Connect wires? What wires? Once I repaired the three workshops, quest completed. You SURE it was the same quest line of Vault 88 "A Model Citizen"?

Clem breaks all the generators in Vault 88. Im autistic sorry for being brief.

As there was no information in the dialogue that jumpsuits or pip-boys would be needed, not to mention they were scrapable, I scrapped that container. After reading some of the quest details from the wiki, I'm likely going to have to uninstall and re-install the dlc in order to try it again. Or, just delete it and move on. Either way, the current state of it is unplayable.

I just uninstalled and re-installed it. Least this time I know what to scrap and not scrap.
LAZERFACE Jul 21, 2017 @ 1:55am
You do not have to clear the whole thing, i normally clear the nw sector so i only have to defend 2 spots. Then later I will come back. Nothing can get though the rubble. Go back to sanc and supply line 88.

uninstalled the vault tec dlc, reinstalled it, and it didn't reset. I found the vault suits and pip boys in the main workshop in the vault, equipped all settlers (including Clem), and it's still bugged. Off to go adventuring. Am sure there's more bugs I can find in other quests.

Yes, unfortunately it seems that way... I just replayed that Section of "A Model Citizen" and Recorded it - it seems that you need to leave the Crates with the Vault 88 Jumpsuits and Pip-Boys to give to the Vault Dwellers, right after the Interviews:

...I know how easy it is to get into a "Scrap Everything" mode though, heh.
Well, at least this will help others to know not to Scrap those Crates (as they are required later on).

While they do put a couple under a Table and mark the Crates with "Vault 88" and "Pip-Boy", they could have made these 'essential' in the Game Programming, so that they are not Deleted by players...
