What game was created as a "passion project" as opposed to being created for "profit?"
Same, the female voice sounded nice whenever she speaks. Except she couldn't quite nail the silver shroud voice. The male voice did the silver shroud voice better.
Shame he quit/left/whatever happened...
For those thinking it's NOT Mr.Cleese:
- It was advertised/promoted as such at E3 and other media sources
- You can totally hear it is him, it is obvious to those that grew up hearing him speak on television and in real life (stage, interviews)
- He says some Python lines ("tis' but a scratch!" et al)
Although I don't know what happened exactly, not all of the lines Codsworth speaks (which should have been named COGSWORTH imo (maybe it was changed)) are Mr.Cleese. You can tell the voiced parts that sound aged/raspy/breathy are Mr.Cleese, the rest are all the very talented Stephen Russell 'imitating'/doing a Mr.Cleese/Butler-esque bit.
It must have been quite a curfuffle, to make them take his name (Cleese) off of the Credits ENTIRELY...
Edit:
Reading up on 'the Mr.Cleese of today', it seems he is "tired" of the whole process - he won't even be making movies anymore, he's just sick of the processes of it all. Perhaps after saying tons of names and lines over and over, he just... walked out? "Just" Severance Pay and then his name stricken is his punishment. Fitting, but odd, perhaps.
Edit2:
I'm sorry, I hate to speak with authority on things I don't know 100%, and I never lie - I do really think it is Mr.Cleese, it sounds just like him, including the inflections and you can hear him 'tightening his neck' like J.C. does... Anyway, the finishing of the game with Mr.Russell is no missing anything, it is all wonderful... What was I talking about? Oh yes, that I don't mean to sound so overbearing when I don't know something 100%, but I swear it is... him (at least for parts of it).
If I may pop back in to make a Suggestion:
If you REALLY hate it, turn off Voices (Voice Volume = 0) and turn on Subtitles and General Subtitles?
(although then you will not be able to hear anyone else, sadly)
