Confidence Man bar fight - possible to win?

I have tried everything I can think of and find on any forum to follow this quest the way it was meant to be done. No matter what happens, Captain Pansy says, "Oh, geez". I have reset the quest with the console, I have reloaded prior saves, I have blocked only, I have beat down Bull in VATS before anyone else takes a swing, I have tried to back away and neither hit nor block, I used 'tai' in console to freeze everyone/Bull/Travis in every combination. The best I have been able to achieve is avoiding half the inn shooting each other.

Is the best case scenario to just let Bull win and cross my fingers I don't get the immortality bug, or is there some mythical dragon shout to actually "win" the bar fight?

As soon as the fight start, keep on punching Bull (in real time) until he is on the ground. Easy..

Oh, before you actually enter the bar, tell your companion (if any) to wait outside the bar.

Leaving my companion outside was a new angle, but sadly, same results. I can't get more than two punches in without everyone agreeing Travis lost.

try wearing strength gear, drinking alcohol, eating buffout...basically anything to increase your unarmed. My guy is a boxer, unarmed dude and i beat it in one or 2 punches.

One time I was wearing PA and killed Bull with one punch. Piper pulled out her gun and started shooting the other guy. I still was able to finish the quest and didn't have to go to the beer factory we just moved on to the girlfriend quest cause I ruined his perfectly laid out plan.

It has to be just a maddening bug. Buffout, X-Cell, 10 Strength, even tossed some Jet in there. Numerous attempts, doesn't matter what happens. Travis even body slammed Bull and immediately lost the fight after. So I can continue with losing the fight, or I can get everyone to pull guns and kill the raiders, but seems impossible for my playthrough to get the quest done properly. Thanks for the great suggestions though all.

It's way funnier to kill Bull and Gouger. The quest proceeds.

I didn't know you could loose the fight? Does Travis stay a coward if you do? I really like the old Travis, not the new one.

Hah, yeah I talked to Stavi after the fight for his reaction, it was pretty good. I have not proceeded with losing the fight, but Travis apologizes and said he told you that would happen. Stavi said its not what he expected, but oh well, he has a new plan.

Now I'm wondering if there would be less chance of the immortality bug to just kill Bull now.

So, amazingly, I just won the fight. I had tried taking out Gouger first before, but usually everyone just pulls guns at that point. This time, he fell down and everyone stopped fighting. Vadim, Bull, and Travis were all just saying their pre-fight lines. Waited about a minute with no changes, finally pushed Travis over next to Gouger and he turns around and says he can't believe we won. Onward to the next step of the bug! Er, quest.
