Daisy in Goodneighbor - no mission entry?

Hi,

This is my first playthrough, so no spoilers, please.

I just arrived in Goodneighbor. This ghoul vendor, Daisy, told me she wanted me to return a library book for her. However, it did not generate a mission. How do I fix this without a console command?

is it not under misc?

I just did the quest myself and told her about it after I finished it. not sure what the quest looks like, just do the quest.

do you really need an arrow to return a libary book?

It is not under Misc. I think I am also supposed to clear out Super Mutants from the Boston Library.

Prior to reaching good neighbor I went into the library and cleared it out, I think for the bobblehead.

she didn't give me the quest per se. just the reward. You don't need the quest to do the quest.

just do the quest.

Exactly.

If you are an OCD completionist that needs to see it in your quest log, then avoid clearing out any map area until you receive a quest that directs you there.

So instead of traveling, talk. Talk to every NPC that has dialogue choices and farm some quests.

i think it's one of those qeusts you kinda have to remember, since it's very possible to stumble across while still on a low level (10-15). presuming you have the armourer/gun nut perks, as well as weapons modded to the max (given the perks).

Not sure what you mean. But I don't have those Perks. Are you saying that you can only get the actual mission in your Pip-Boy if you have those Perks?

when u "acept" the mission (have u acepted it? ) she gives u one overtimed book and u get the mission to clear the library AND give back the book. it can be that u see only the bring back the book part or only the clear the library part as headline for the quest.

I accepted the quest but there is no quest entry. I'll check my inventory for the book, but I didn't get an inventory pop-up for "book added" either. I even loaded my game a few times to make sure I didn't miss something.

The quest is called "Public Knowledge"; Search your quest logs for that.

no no no. i'm saying that if you have those perks getting to the library at level 10-15 should be easy. you don't need them to get there at any level though.

as for the qeust, i am saying it's one of a handfull that do not show in your qeust list. it's just one of those things you will have to remember. fallout 4 is a game meant to be played for hours on end (yes i know, life gets in the way of that unless you are really dedicated to this end).

Oh, I gotcha. I'm level 42 though.

I assumed the quest would go into Misc at the least. I'll do more testing this week. Thanks. And yes, fun game. Lotta hours into it so far.

The quest will not start after talking to Daisy. She says all the dialogue and even tells you to return her book, but no book is given and the quest is not given. [verified]
