[Solved] Pip-Boy comes up too big, zoomed in, too close, in Survival Mode
Just started a Survival Mode game and when I picked up the Pip-Boy, it 'zoomed in' way too far and I only see the bottom-right 3/4 of the screen:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=972169396
I looked this up and found a lot of people got this, and solved it, by changing the Field Of View value in the Command Console - but being a Survival Mode game, I cannot change it that way...

I went into the INI files and changed it there, but re-entering the game, the Pip-Boy is still too close and too big to see eveything.

I tried to go into the game and Load a non-Survival game and the Pip-Boy looked fine there, so it might be something attached to the Survival Saves.

I changed the Survival Mode game into a Very Hard game, which let me use the Command Console - and that fixed it - but then I could not Enable Survival Mode anymore with that Character. I made a new one to play Survival Mode with, and the Pip-Boy was 'zoomed in too far' again! Crazy :steamsad:

So, I'm wondering if anyone here has run into this or has any ideas.

Something went awry and any Survival Mode game I start, the Pip-Boy is too large/big to see everything (I've tried three new Survival Mode characters)....

No Mods running.

I am thinking of trying to delete most of the game files and re-download them and see if it 'resets' anything. Crazy.

Download the Mod that lets you switch in and out of Survival Mode.

You need to reinstall the UI mods you've got. The problem is in your /Interface directory.

First thing to do - copy the /Interface directory to your desktop.
Second - delete the original.
Third - run the game and see if its fixed.

I don't have an "interface" folder in my game at all, is that related to Mods?
I am running no mods...

This seems to be my only solution... Thanks for your input

Perhaps I will mention this to Bethesda...

Try and delete your ini files and let the game create new ones.

Double right-click toggles zoom on the pip boy menu. My guess is you accidentally did that and didn't know how to reverse it.

Then go into /MyDocuments/Fallout4 and delete all the .ini files there - Fallout4.ini, Falltout4Prefs.ini and Custom.ini

Start the game up again - it will recreate those.

try to change FOV in the console : fov xx
xx= fov value (90 or 100 is good). fov (without number set default value)

Thanks but I never really do that. I used to play with the Pip-Boy at first (you can actually drag it around and move your arm and stuff heh), but I don't anymore.

Thanks, I tried that. I deleted all the INI files and the Game Folder and Verified and it Downloaded a bunch of files and reset the Settings - but it didn't work, unfortunately.

Thank you but I can't type because it is Survival Mode, heh.

SOLVED:

What I did initially was, the Suggestion to find a Mod that allows re-enabling of Survival Mode more than once.
I found one (I'll Link it if anyone wants) and Disabled Survival Mode, typed in FOV 90 90 ( for me I like 90ish) and then Re-Enabled Survival Mode.

Edit / Solution for no Game Mod needed:
I found the command that re-enables Survival Mode.
So, I disabled Survival Mode, edited the FOV with
fov 90 90
then re-enabled Survival Mode with the command.
The command was
cgf "Game.IncrementStat" "Survival Denied" -1
I will test it again soon and see exactly what it is, because it is easy to type it wrong and the game is very picky about that command. It might be
cgf Game.IncrementStat "Survival Denied" -1
that is, without the quotes on the first part.
Note that restarting the game guarantees the Achievements become available again as well. If you don't mind not being 100% that the achievements are working, there is no need to restart, just use the command and go into the Menus to change to Survival Mode again (with confirmation).

Solved! Thanks again for all the helpful input from everyone

Sounds a lot more fun than the" Try to make it to a bed before the game crashes"bug.
